Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/05/02) */
The guest arrived at the delaership in March 14th, with a concern regarding a scratch on the rear bumperThe guest spoke with *** *** General Sales Manager, regarding the concerns and *** advised that it should be taken to a
bodyshop for a proper repairThe guest preferred to have the scratch repaired instead of a proper bodyshop repair and repaint of the bumper*** advised the guest that there was a possibility that our detail department could make an attempt at a repairThe guest chose that option and the vehicle was booked into detail for the repair to be completedAs there was a touchup of the paint required, the guest was asked to purchase a touchup paint pen for $plus GST as this was not a common clor for the detail department to have in their supplyThe guest declined so the detailer advised that he would do the best that he could without the paint penThe guest was charged $including polishing supplies and GSTThe guest returned for an oil change on April 4, and during that visit the vehicle recieved a cut and polish to the affected area to further minimize the guest's concern of the scratch to the vehicle's rear bumperThis was performed at no charge to the guest as a courtesy from the dealershipThe guest was not satisfied with the result but there were no guarantees made regarding a 'like new' repair as by having a bodyshop complete a repair and repaint is the only way to guarantee itThere was no breach of contract as paint repairs will not result in the same result as a proper bodyshop repaintWe do not offer a money-back guarantee regarding paint restoration or repair but are willing to work with the guest on a resolution
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/05/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The facts still remain: 1) I had to return at a later date for this auto body detailing department to 'acquire' the paint pen colour***
2) I was given an estimate of $plus 5% GST for the removal of the scratch and to polish; there would be no extra charges for the job to be completedThen, after the fact, I was told the showroom materials of $and shop materials of on the final bill were "shop taxes" and there was no reason to put them on the initial estimate; ***
3)The workmanship was nowhere near the quality of what I was told by *** *** the service adviser- when I dropped off the vehicle the second timeI was told the paint pen would be polished into the bodyThat was not the case, it was dabbed on and left blotchy
4) The technician *** did not want to help fix the issue at handInstead just wiped off the blotchy paint while leaving smears behind that I had to resolve with auto body products I had to purchase myself, thus incurring more expenseThis same technician stated he couldn't fix the paint on the gas hatch because it was not metal like the rest of the body, this statement was incorrect
Ultimately, I knew that the minor indent in the bumper was not going to be fixedHowever, I was expecting a smooth looking polishHence the service called 'cut and polish'
I still will not go back to this dealership ***

Yes I have heard from Sherwood Park Toyota and they have decided to fix the dentI am due to have it done soon but am waiting to see what happens before making any changes to my complaint as service with them has not been good to dateI don't trust them and leaving my truck with them makes me nervous
I will contact Revdex.com after the repair has been done

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/02/14) */
The vehicle in question is inspected and reconditioned to the governamen od Alberta regulationsThe customer was made aware and did see the inspection prior to purchasing the vehicleWhen I was made aware of the situation I did offer
to speak to the customer, he choose to proceed with his complaintsI will contact the insurance company and advicate on the customer and will have the tire in question covered

The customer has been contacted. with respect to the lights, it is difficult to determine whether the lights were working or not and if there was an electrical issue as the customer did not bring the vehicle back to the dealership but chose to take care of it on their own. The gas tank
issue was dressed by the service department. The customer did purchase a used vehicle that was fully inspected and reconditioned to our standards, but it is still a used vehicle. I'm confident that the customer is satisfied with the resolution

I visited Sherwood Park Toyota today for an oil change as I had a letter from a sales person saying I had free oil changesThe sales person no longer works at the location and I understand that the free oil changes should have stayed with the original owner of the vehicle
The dealership called me back today to say they will honor the agreement for free oil changes even though the sales person had given them to me by mistake
Very nice service
thank you very much!

Absolutely the most arrogant poor service poor attitude from service departmentI bought brand new vehicles in the space of weeksThey are driven to sell, after that you suffer from a very poor service departmentSeems to be the managements direction, that is misdirection provide as little service and accountability as possiblei will never recommend anyone waste their time at this particular place of business

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/03/21) */
The customer was provided with a inspection report from the dealership, the customer also took the vehicle for a independent inspection prior to purchasing the vehicle. The customer was happy with the inspection he received from the...

independent source that he took the vehicle to. I personally met with the customer and offered to inspect the vehicle for water pump leak, the customer refused.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/03/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We were told during our meeting on the 21st that because we took it for an independent inspection there was nothing that the dealership would do to rectify the issue, though it was missed by them well. The fact remains that we were sold a defective product. [redacted] The offer to put it on the hoist was to look at the car not to rectify the issue. This issue has not been resolved!

Yes, I checked with my bank and it went through. They refused to refund my money until Saturday when they called [redacted] [redacted] [redacted].I have received my money and am satisfied with the outcome. Thank You for your help.

The matter has been resolved, customer is picking up their new vehicle up in a few days.

I have contacted the customer and have discussed the matter. The customer is correctr, my staff failed. I thank the...

customer for bringing this to my attention as without that I would not be able to deal with the situation internally. My apologies to the custome, this is not how Sherwood Park Toyota treats customers.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/09/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I thank the owner for contacting me about this issue. I do accept his apology on the matter and trust he will deal with the staff, yet how his staff conducted themselves and the lack of understanding about why the vehicle was even posted on [redacted] and their on-line manger invited me out to view the vehicle (when the owner told me the vehicle should not have been for sale as was not prepared) goes unexplained.
