Review: I purchased an equipment groupset from Shimano more than a year ago. A groupset includes front and rear shifters units, front and rear derailleur units and a crankset. This groupset was advertised to be compatible with an electronic odometer/computer called a FlightDeck which would electronically connect with the groupset shifter units to provide gear positions and more. The FlightDeck computer was not immediately available, but was promised to be available at a later date. I was told in repeated phone calls to Shimano North America that the unit was coming. Finally, a Shimano technician told me over the phone that the unit was cancelled due to design problems and would not be replaced in the future. The shifter units as I purchased them had the phrase "Flight Deck" printed directly on them. I purchased the groupset expecting that the Flight Deck would be available, but apparently Shimano has decided not to stand by it's customers and supply the promised computer.Desired Settlement: I would expect a refund of at least part of my groupset expenditure. The intended price of the Flight Deck, which I was prepared to pay, would be a fair sum, I think.

Review: Purchased a very expensive fishing rod with a limited life time warranty. A piece of the handle broke off in my hand while casting. I sent the rod in for inspection at my expense. A woman called and told me I must have bumped the rod. I told her it was clear that there was no glue on the rod blank in the area of the broken handle. She responded that the rod was 10 years old and she refused to honor the warranty. I now have the rod. It's clear to anyone that inspects the rod that there was either a glue failure, or glue was never put on the blank in the area of the cork handle failure.
