Shimotsu Architecture

Review: On 2/14/2014, contract was signed with Mr. [redacted] to design a sunroom addition to our home. On 3/03/2014, we paid a 10% retainer ($517) and on 1/01/2015, we paid a "Phase 1 Design 15% complete fee" ($775.50). The only document we have received from Mr. [redacted] is a rough hand scribbled drawing on binder paper. On 1/04/2015, we received an email from Mr. [redacted] indicating that construction would begin by 4/1/2015. Several emails/phone calls were made to Mr. [redacted] in February and March to ask about the status of the project but received no response from him. We remembered that Mr. [redacted] told us he was working for Four Leaf Construction (working under a subcontract for the California Department of Parks and Recreation). We tracked down his new phone numbers and called him. He said he would respond to the emails that were sent to him. He did not respond, so we called again. He didn't want to talk, but said he would call back. He called back at 3 am to my work phone number and said that he would NOT be working on our sunroom, and he said he had left our original house plans under our doormat.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund for the monies that we paid to Mr. [redacted], plus our attorney fees.
