At this time, I have been contacted directly by Shine Dental Associates of the North Shore regarding complaint ID [redacted] , however my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [Your Answer Here] There has been no update since the last time I respondedI know Shine Dental refiled the correct claim to Cigna and received approximately dollars from them, but I have not received my money back or any updates via mail or written correspondence In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Horrible experience! I went to this office over Labor Day Weekend because no one else was open when my front tooth chippeddespite the fact that they take my insurance, they charged me a non refundable emergency fee plus for the X-ray and bonding because my "insurance couldn't be verified over the weekend." That in itself was questionable because Cigna is open for contact When I left the dentist, there was a deep indent in the tooth they "fixed." When I visited my regular dentist for a follow up, he told me the tooth could easily be snapped at the indent and it was only a matter of time until it breaks againHe would have broke it and rebonded it, but insurance wouldn't cover it again in such a short period of timeI eventually had to go back to have the bonding removed and redone out of pocketWhen the dentist cleared off the tooth, he told me it was never cured correctly and the bonding was coming off "mushy." As if this wasn't bad enough, they filed a claim w

Went to Shine for mouth restoration, replacement old caps, tooth extraction and implantmonths later, have nothing but temporary bridge, which is crackedThe dental assistant placed it, it broke in two, instead of fixing it, she glued broken pieces in, I have complained of pain from the broken piece pushing into my gum line, they cancel appointments, when I do go in, the dentist on that day States he cannot help, I need to make another appointmentI'm in agonyInitially, a price was set for my dental work and agreed uponDuring the removal of my old crowns, the office manager came into treatment room and stated it would cost thousand dollars more (raising initial cost by 50%)She stated I needed gum work, post work, and extensive restorationIt that point I had old caps ground down to the posts, I was horrified, and said I can't leave the office with these "fangs" and agreedThe dentist then continued removing the remaining crowns, placed the temporaryThis took minutesI asked when I need to come back for the stated restoration, she said it's doneI even joked that it was a very expensive minute treatment- $for minutes of extensive restorationThe minutes were spent on grinding down other crowns and placing temporary, there was No other time for this other work.No sutures, nothingI asked for name of this expensive procedure that was performed, and Sharon, the office manager said to me "I'm not a dentist, I don't know " But you must know something, because it was you who came into treatment room to inform me of additional 12k chargeI also expressed my concern over a treatment tray that was used that was expiredI took a photo and expressed my concernSharon told me they use old boxes to store new supplies inMy saga continues, they have my money $out of $of initial quoteAnd I apparently owe them an additional $for work that they can't name, so I cannot start payment without knowing what I'm paying forIn addition, the lower implants with tooth bridge they say is not able to be done due to where my nerve is locatedThis was only discovered weeks agoWhat was an exciting experience, to look forward to a new smile, has turned into a nightmare, financially, physically, emotionallyI was to meet with Dr W*** today to discuss my dissatisfaction, however, Sharon, the office manager called to cancel my appointment on hour prior because Dr W*** had a meeting.Another week of waiting in discomfort( cracked temporary bridge for weeks !)There is so much more, I have pictures, I have recordings, emailsI'm stuck, they have my money, I have nothing but implant( no abutment, no cap), a broken lower tooth temporary bridge, and an upper temporary crown bridge

At this time, I received a message from the office at Shine DentalHowever, the message
did not address my complaintIt was the office manager calling to say that she told Cigna that she would resubmit the claim and she was confused why she was receiving correspondence from the Revdex.comI visited their office only one time on September *** and at that time, I paid out of pocket I was told that the emergency fee of was non-refundable, but my dollars would be refunded to me within 2-weeks after my claim was processedIn that time, I had to visit another dentist times to address the same problem because Shine did not perform the bonding correctly, which was confirmed by two other dentistsThe claims for these three visits were processed well before Shine processed my correct claimThis business has no problem taking people's hard earned money and taking their time to process their insurance claimsIn my case, they processed the wrong claim and when they only received $from insurance for the claim, they had no intentions of returning my money until I contacted Cigna and the Revdex.comI see that Cigna just processed the corrected the corrected claim, but I have not heard from Shine Dental or received a check since that timeI will update my complaint again if and when I do.

Please be careful with this practice Owner is NOt A MEMBER of the American Dental Association He tries to perform, but his large business and factory setting causes inferior work, leaving patient the victim His costs are high He displayed unethical conduct for failure to comply unless he used blackmail techniques (i.etake off bad review and I will continue correction of your problem and services) I personally was duped into having the end result handed to me in good form and faith, and it is being held pending the practice receives a promise no complaints would be submitted about him or his practice He owns two Island Dental in Franklin Square as well
I had no ill faith content ...had no desire to submit poor reviews or go further with professional complaints I was pushed into a corner to respond poorly by his request If, he wasnt doing any wrong doings, then he wouldnt fear any poor reviews This was brought to surface when the owner presented a "clear me of any bad by signing this form and I will give you your crowns that I completed and are ready" wow that is blackmail! he caused his own problems And, his work is inferior
Whatever ads say about cosmetic and performances are the opposite

There has been no update since the last time I responded. I know Shine Dental refiled the correct claim to Cigna and received approximately 75 dollars from them, but I have not received my money back or any updates via mail or written correspondence.

Review: I called this dentist's office on a Friday and wanted to make an appointment for Saturday. They told me there would not be a dentist on duty on Saturday but I could come in that day. I specifically asked if they took my insurance ([redacted]) and if they were in network and I was told that they were.

After the work was performed, they advised that they would submit to insurance as an emergency and that I would get better coverage that way. They charged me $625 at out-of-network rates.

The claim was denied by insurance and I later discovered that they ARE NOT IN MY NETWORK!!!

I always go to doctors and dentists [redacted] - that's why I have insurance.

If [redacted] deems that the procedures performed were not covered, I should only be charged by this dentist at IN Network Rates. They refuse to issue any refund to me and claim that they only said that they would 'assist' with insurance. That is simply not true - if they had said that, I would have gone to a different dentist.Desired Settlement: I should have only been charged at [redacted]. I must be refunded the difference between the gross rates that they charged and the lower In Network Rates. For instance, the scaling&root per quad that they charged me $350.00 for should have only been charged at [redacted] of $155.00.
