On February 6 in the afternoon I called the local nail salon in which I making a complaint, that I wanted to schedule an appointment to get a fill in for my nails because I had a $10 coupon that I had accrued from the previous times I’ve spent money there. On every occasion that I have showed up I noticed that the licenses never have a photo on them of the technician, and some of the tools are so unsanitary to the point where I have to ask the technician to please sanitize them or sterilize it before they use it on me. This leads to them having an attitude towards me and them talking down to me. I figured I’d make one last appointment so I can squeeze in my coupon and be done with the business for good. I tend to work late nights at a hospital so the following morning I miss my appointment and I called to apologize and let them know if I could reschedule. The technician Trish got on the phone and started yelling and said that she is not going to make any appointments for me and I cannot schedule any appointments moving forward. I felt this was discrimination because she’s not allowing me as a consumer to make an appointment based on absolutely nothing. She is denying the services based on nothing. I have never miss my appointments in the past so I was in shock to hear this. One time I had walked in with one of my friends who happens to speak their language, and she over heard them saying that they hate Americans and that they are so lazy and stupid. I really couldn’t believe it. Either way I went on my way with my business because it was convenient for me to go to a nail salon that was so close to home considering that I work at the hospital and have limited time. I believe that the way that I was spoken to and yelled at through the phone was seriously poor customer service and discriminatory.

This is in regards to your letter regarding a complaint submitted on 2/7/2020 and its assigned case ID of *** Our Store Shiny Nailz, have provided good faith in trying to resolve this matter with the customer regarding this alleged incident. This alleged incident was on the customer and not the store. She had missed a scheduled appointment and one of the employees here informed her, in a professional and polite manner, that she could not reschedule her appointment. She recommended that the customer come into the store and the store/other employees can service her. Because we are in the servicing industry it is important that we ask each customer to notify us well in advanced if they cannot keep an appointment. We do this to keep our store schedule appropriately so that we do not have a loss of business. We understand that customers may have issue with their schedule, and we try to accommodate their schedules. We also have store policies and guidelines, so that we can provide excellent service to all of our customers and not just one. These policies are not dissimilar to dentists and doctors who may charge their patients for missing an appointment within a 24 hour window. Regarding this incident, we have reached out to the customer but she does not want to resolve this alleged incident. If she would like to come in and use her coupons we will honor that. However, after that, we have the right to refuse service. She has provided a bad business review on Yelp and also have notified you in regards to this alleged incident. Our employees, who are very talented, are quite busy and have customers coming in from all parts of NY, PA, NJ, and MO and we need to accommodate all of their appointments keeping everyone on schedule. We ask kindly that you dismiss this false allegation because we have done everything we can to resolve this matter with the customer. At this point in time we have experienced a loss of business due to her review on yelp.
