I signed a contract to have my car shipped across country A week after signing the contract and a day before the scheduled pick up, I received a phone call at 5:in the evening asking if I received an alleged email earlier in the day indicating that if I would need to have the car ready if I wanted to meet my requested delivery date This would not have been a problem, but the alleged email never came; and because I did not respond to the alleged email, my car would now be delivered days late and I would be charged an additional $over the price on my contract
I firmly believe that even during the holiday season, the company had ample time to contact me about a potential scheduling conflict If they truly had a scheduling conflict, they should have at least honored the price that was provided on the contract If they know it is difficult to schedule during the holiday season and know that drivers demand more money, they should quote accordingly The company is responsible for poor scheduling and poor cost estimating, not the consumer
I'd be happy to be forwarded a time stamped copy of the alleged email and could change my opinion if provided; without it, I felt like it was a bait and switch given the time that I was notified Ship A Car, Incleft me with no options to accommodate my schedule at this stage of my planned move
