Shirtless Movers, LLC Reviews (2)

Beware, Do Not Hire This Company! I purchased a Groupon to hire this company for moving services. The groupon provided two hours, two men, and a truck. When I made the reservation I was told there was a three hour minimum and a $50 gas fee. This was not outlined in the groupon but I didn't have an issue with this as I may have used the extra one hour of service. Throughout my conversation with the caller who's number showed up as Jordan Kavoosi on my caller id, he tried to upsell me a 3rd man. I declined the third man and we arranged for the company to arrive for the move from one residence in Prior Lake to a second residence in Prior Lake. Our conversation took place on November 15th and the move was scheduled for November 22nd, 2016 with them arriving between 9-10 am. I received a confirmation e-mail with this information. On November 18th at 6:53 pm I received an email from the company stating, "Can you confirm your order? Can we move your job to 5 to 6 pm? On Tuesday? What is your cell phone please confirm back within 24 hours or order will cancel We just called you and it was a business" My confirmation I received on the 15th shows my correct cell phone number. It was clear they had another customer with probably a bigger payment who wanted the 9am time. I agreed to the time change because if they showed up at 6pm and they finished at 9pm that would have been fine. I updated them with my husbands cell phone number. On the date of the move my husband received a phone call from the number listing to Jordan Kavoosi at 5:35 pm from the movers stating they were just leaving uptown and would arrive in 20 minutes. At 5:36 text "This is Shirtless movers.com" "Just Waiting on payment and we'll be on the way the move for a sold" At 6:20 pm we received a text "We're still here waiting". Our response was "still in uptown?" The movers response was, "Yes it's 2 am in Iraq" "Ok we're just gonna hope he pays us the 1036 invoice in the morning" "We cant help it if the customers don't pay not part our plan We can't leave if we don't get paid" Text at 6:26 pm "My feet are knumb it's cold went this job is not easy so I have to talk to the guys if they want to risk not getting paid for 6 hours we were all here" My husband responded "put a shirt on then". At 6:56 we received a text "We're heading over to guys right now" "We still didn't get paid" "I think they will pay tomorrow morning he's military and lives in nice place". At 7:43 we asked "How far out are u guys?". At 7:45 they replied "We have Arrived;)" The movers had not arrived we were at the residence and did not see them anywhere. At 7:48 we sent them a message to confirm the address. At 7:51 they responded by saying "Ok we're at the drop off lol" "Durr".
At 7:54 pm I called the number for Jordan Kavoosi and stated we were no longer interested in their service. I was given many excuses as to why they were two hours late and the was told "we are here". I never saw their truck or any of the movers. Mr. Kavoosi then called me a "[redacted]" for draggin him "all the way out here". It was at this time when I asked the male on the phone who he was. He stated, "I'm the owner of the company". I told them they were almost two hours late and I was not interested in being moved between the hours of 8-11pm. I also had doubts that they would arrive at all. He said he had "3" guys with him and they were minutes away. Mr. Kavoosi continued to tell me what an [redacted] I was. I told him I did not care what his opinion of me was. He stated he did not care what my opinion of him was either. At that time I told Mr. Kavoosi that we were done. He then hung up on me.
We did not see the truck at our residence and drove the short distance to the new home and did not see any signs of anyone being there either. I have requested a refund from Groupon. Fortunately we were not required to be out of our residence that evening. Others are not so fortunate as they have move out dates. This is why I would not recommend ShirtlessMovers to anyone. This is the worst customer experience I have had with any business. I found them to be unreliable, and extremely unprofessional. Mr. Kavoosi is no stranger to negative reviews or complaints on the Revdex.com. See the March 24, 2011 written by Andy Mannix in "City Pages". The article is titled "Jordan Kavoosi's business declared unethical by the Revdex.com".

This company is a complete scam. Don't use them!!! Pay the cost and go with Two Men and a Truck! This review is long but far worth the read if you like your hard earned money.

The owner of shirtless movers (Jordan Kavoosi) is rude and terrible to talk to. When I moved into my condo I used Two Men and a Truck and it took them 1.5 hours to move the SAME amount of furniture.

This time around I decided to try to save about $100 and go with Shirtless movers because they had a Groupon..... TERRIBLE MISTAKE.

According to Jordan, the reason for billing me 7.5 hours (for ONLY big furniture like beds, dining room table, couch...my condo was 1000 sq ft. NOT THAT MUCH FURNITURE) was because the distance from the condo door to the elevator was a "football field" (which was actually 75 feet) he claimed that was a long move. I pretold him the 12 pieces of furniture and 6 dining room chairs I wanted moved when I booked the appointment. He didn't ask me before hand what the distance was from door to elevator. I don't own a moving company. How was I supposed to know to tell him that it's 75 feet!? I informed him that my unit was on the 4th floor and I thought that would clearly indicate they needed to use a elevator and they would have to walk my furniture from my door to the elevator. NOPE, He made it very clear it was MY FAULT that he didn't ask me how far it was to the elevator. He actually laughed and said "April you should have known".

His other reason was that I didn't ask for a 3rd guy. It took Two Men and a Truck 1.5 hours to move me in with 3 guys.... I figured 3-4 hours for 2 guys was enough time. No, it took his two movers 7.5 hours.

Jordan stopped by the new house, didn't say a word about how long it was taking them and then quickly got in his car and left without saying a word (knowing we were unhappy customers). When it came time to leave, I had already left the house for my meeting. I was informed by my fiancé he wanted to charge us an ADDITIONAL $709. Since jordan would only text me I asked him to call me because I wasn't going to pay $709+$115 I paid for the groupon....(so $824 to move 12 pieces of furniture and 6 chairs) His reply: "please call me tomorrow after 8am as my hours for the day are over".... so he just wanted to charge me and avoid talking to me.

To top it off, my fiancé and I actually had to move my 2 mattresses and box springs down outselves, we moved coffee tables down, we moved out dining room chairs down, took apart my queen size bed, and We were then left to assemble it ALL. Had we not helped them do their job and had we not told them just to quit (at 7.5 hours) they would have been here for 10+ hours just racking up the hours.

Jay (one of our movers) was incredibly slow. The second Jordan showed up, he was INCREDIBLY fast.... funny how that works. The second Jordan left, it was back to being slow. The second mover who helped Jay was FANTASTIC. He is the ONLY good thing I have to say about the company.

Upon "completion" of the move, Jay had Jordan on speaker phone and my fiancé overheard many rude and unprofessional comments about us (including "we should just take the furniture back out and hold it for ransom") Jordan actually told me - that he told jay that he didn't want to "deal with me". Jordan also tried to make me feel at ease by telling me his last client "fked up" by not telling him that it was a longer walking distance.

Oh AND they broke 2 pieces of my furniture (out of the 12) and won't pay to fix it even though I bought the insurance.

Overall, DONT EVER CONSIDER THIS COMPANY. NEVER!!!!
