I was not aware of this complaint until after I received a
letter from the Revdex.com on Tuesday March 04, Once I read the complaint I
immediately contacted our salesman involved, *** ***, Contractor Sales
Manager at Shiver Lumber Co., he informed me what he remembered:
The windows were sold to the Boley Brothers who were the
general contractor for Mrand Mrs***They were sold on a COD account because
they did not have an account with usWe did sell, but did not stock, National
Windows, as did many other Lumber Yards and Building Material Dealers. National went out of business shortly
thereafterHowever National had been in business for many years and was
considered to be a quality company with a good reputation that sold windows and
doors all over the countryWe sell thousands of products by manufacturers but
neither we nor most retailers warrant the manufacturer’s products
I personally called Mr*** on Tuesday, March 04, and
talked with him about the situationHe informed me he knew that it wasn’t our
fault but they were frustrated by the fact they had spent good money on windows
and now the windows were fogging up or had lost their
seal and the glass needs replacingI informed him I had the same problem
myself, and had to replace windows that had fogged up
Mr*** called Mr*** on Wednesday, March 05,
and told Mr*** he was not aware that he was to go to their house to see the
windows but had given Mr*** some information about some glass companies who
were in the business of replacing glassMr*** told Mr*** that again
he knew it wasn’t our fault but was frustrated about the situationMr
*** told Mr*** we would be glad to come to his house to see the
windows and again offered glass companies who did the replacement work and Mr
*** said he contacted Eufaula Glass Coabout getting a bid
To our knowledge glass seal failure which lets air get in
between the two panes of glass on an insulated window should not cause mildew
We are very sorry about the situation and will be glad to go to the ***’
house anytime to offer advise but we are not able to warranty a manufacturer’s
product
