The manager [redacted] is a shady snake in the grassWhat started as a simple leak coming from my smoke detector eventually leaked into my ceiling causing a nasty, moldy, and mildew messIt got so bad the ceiling started cracking and looked like it was going to cave inI had to call the building inspector twiceThe first time because [redacted] did not send maintenance to fix itThen after the building inspector came was when she finally sent her crew a month and a half later that didn't even fix itThey just put some tape or something around it and the lead guy told his worker to "make it look good"A month later it leaked again in my bathroom and the ceiling again became moldy, mildew, and began to crackShe then sent her maintenance guy to fix it after I called the building inspector againShe was supposed to have the new part fixed again since it was starting to mold but didn'tThe first time I had to serve [redacted] papers letting her know per Alabama landlord tenant law if she did not fix the ceiling I would pursue legal action against herShe does not inspect the apartments when tenants move out so a lot of the apartments are a filthy disgusting mess that have rotted parts to it or mold and mildewMold and mildew are huge issues with Shoals Property managementShe will tell you to clean the apartment and she'll knock off a few dollars off the rent instead if sending a cleaning crewShe did that with us and other reviewers I have seen onlineBefore we moved in our apartment was disgustingThe toilet was black inside, eventually it had to be replaced, rotted food in the refrigerator which was also replaced, and nasty gunk all over the countersReally disgustingShe also rents to people that don't have jobs or ways to pay their rentThen will try and take them to court or ask them for the moneyHow she's a manager is a mysteryDo not rent with Shoals property managementThey have a bad rep around townIn the office she has signs up that say no cash accepted but she does and has accepted cash from other tenantsShe tried to get me to pay late fees but I flat out refused because when my ex moved out I told her and she told me "technically you are not responsible for anything since your name isn't on the lease and as long as you pay the rent you can stay"I did pay the rent just not on time because I could only pay it when I had itI told her anything extra she would have to go after my ex since she rented to him knowing he had no job and no way of paying rent besides his brother giving him moneyAlso he is the one that broke the leaseEventually I just moved outGot tired of the apartment and the mess with ***If you rent from Shoals property management look up Alabama landlord tenant laws and learn your rightsSo [redacted] can't blindside you and take advantage of youA coworker of mine went through the same thing with ***Rumor has it she uses tenants rent money to pay for her big fancy red truck
