Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I reject Shoeder's claim that they sent us out on a boat in good conditionThey sent us out with a boat with damage they had spray painted overWe were not able to detect the prior damage with our eyes because of the spray paint and not knowing to look for that hidden trickIt was only afterward that an engine mechanic showed us that the propeller had been previously damaged and Shoeder's hid that from us by spray-painting itWe did take the propeller with us and that is how we were able to take it to an engine mechanic that showed us the previous damage.Thank you for your timeWhether or not any financial resolution is made I would like this recorded on their history as I feel all consumers should be aware of their dishonesty and lack of integrityI was hoping the Revdex.com would at least be able to note this for future consumer to be aware of.Thank you, [redacted]

[redacted] rented a fishing boat from us on July 20, The boat was delivered to them in good condition with a good propellerThe boat was returned to us with a cracked blade on the propellerIt was not reusableThey were therefore charged $to replace the damaged propellerThey took the damaged propeller with them.On July 26th, I received this email:"From: " [redacted] >Sent: Wednesday, July 26, 3:PMTo: "[email protected]" , " [redacted] >Subject: Re: Shoeders Rentals, Inc- Your Receipt Enclosed Hello, We rented your fishing boat last Thursday, July 20, When we initially got the boat out there were a few bubble noises (we later found out were cavitation noises) but they went away after the first minutes in the boat so we thought all was OKWhen we got back to shore, we found out that there was damage the propellerWe were honest, paid for the problem and took the propeller homeWhen we got here we showed a friend who is familiar with boat engines and he saw signs of prior damaged to the propeller and signs that the propeller had been altered and spray painted to avoid the prior damage being obviousWe are honest people and have/will wholly paid for any problems we causedHowever, after getting more expertise, we feel that perhaps you charged us for an propeller that had prior damage and you did not properly test it before sending it out with us, your customerWe would like to give you an opportunity to explainWe feel that you sent us out on a boat with a propeller that was previously damaged and not properly tested before renting it out again, to us, which then caused us to be liable for damage that was not actually caused by usPlease email/mail us your written response so we have documentation of your thoughts regarding this problemThank you, [redacted] This was my reply: [redacted] We do not rent boats that have damaged propsIf props have surfaced scratches, we do sometimes use spray paint to shine the prop up, however we do not use props with chips, dings, cracks, or bent bladesThe boat was inspected by you when you took delivery of it, and you initialed that the prop was in good condition, then that it was cracked upon returnA prop with a cracked blade cannot be reused or refurbished.I hope that this answers your concerns.Thank you[redacted] Shoeders Rentals, Inc[redacted] [redacted] www.shoederssportcenter.comshoeders.rentals@frontier,com”As you can see Stacy, we were not requested to provide the boat’s damage historyThis boat has not had previous damage other than typical cosmetic damage that comes from usageThe propeller was in perfect working condition when it was delivered to them and they initialed and signed that fact on the inspection sheet when they took possession of the boatI have reviewed the previous rental customer’s inspection sheet and it clearly states and is signed that the prop was in “good” condition when it was returnedI would have provided that information to the Hipkiss’s had they requested it [redacted] did damage the propeller of the boat while it was in their possession and so are responsible for the replacement cost of $plus $tax for a total of $They were not charged $375.00, which Jennifer states is the disputed amountHowever, they were also responsible for the daily rental fee of $145, the delivery fee of $and tax of $13.20, and they signed the rental agreement disclosing those chargesThe total amount that they are responsible for was $418.70, and that is what they were charged.I can provide copies of any documentation neededI hope this satisfactorily answers the Hipkiss’s complaint.Thank you

The consumer's rented a Crestliner Kodiak fishing boat on July 20, It was delivered to them in excellent condition with a propeller that was in good conditionThey were properly instructed on the operation of the boat, completed a walkthrough of the boat and motor, and signed and initialed all of the paperwork (which includes a check out sheet for every component of the boat)We received no complaints from the customer during the course of their rental that the boat was not running properlyWhen the boat was returned, the propeller was cracked and could not be reused or refurbishedThe consumer's agreed that was the case, and paid the amount of $plus $tax for a replacement propThey took the damaged prop with themAt no time did they mention any problems with the operation of the boat or motorWe have owned this boat and motor since it was newWe properly maintain it and it is in excellent condition other than cosmetic wear and tearWe are a certified dealer for both Crestliner and Mercury (the motor manufacturer) and our mechanics perform regular maintenance on the boat to insure that it is working properly for every rentalWe have never had any issues with it mechanicallyIn reviewing records before and after the Hipkiss’s rental, absolutely no complaints have been reported. We have never received a request from the the consumer regarding reviewing mechanical recordsWe can provide any documentation that you or they would likeWe have all maintenance records on fileRegarding the condition of the propeller, we have a signed statement from the previous rental customer noting that the condition was “good” upon returnWe have an initialed and signed statement from the consumer clearly disclosing the prop was in “good” condition when the boat went out and “cracked” upon return. The consumer stated that they took the damaged propeller from us and had it inspected by a mechanic, who told them that it was spray paintedAs we explained to the consumer after her initial contact to us, if a propeller comes back to us with simple surface scratches, we do spray paint it, but only so we can tell if there is damages caused by the next customerA propeller with only surface scratches is still 100% usable, and without spray painting them, it would be nearly impossible for us to tell if any damages were new or were already presentThis is a measure that we do to avoid charging unnecessary damage chargesHowever, a propeller that is cracked, as this was upon return to us, cannot be refurbished or reconditioned, thus the renter is responsible for the damage incurred while they are in possession of the boatThis was explained to the consumer both while they did the initial walk through on the boat, and upon the boat’s return, when they agreed on the damage and damage charges (please see attached signed credit card receipt for the full amount of the rental including the damaged prop)All correspondence and documentation can be provided upon your requestI hope this satisfactorily answers the consumer's complaint
