To whom it may concern: The accusations from *** *** are completely inaccurateHe did in fact purchase a boat that was on our property but it was not from Shop NoMarine LLCOne of the owners, *** ***, acted as middle man for his brother in-law, ***, who owned the boat*** is
currentlyworking in North Dakota which would obviously make it hard to sell a boat down hereThis was explained to *** many times that Shop Nodid not own the boat*** was told that the boat was in good running condition, which it isHe was also told during the time *** had owned it that it had never been taken to the lake to run, it had only been run in the driveway*** owned the boat for a week before he took it to the lakeDuring that time he altered the boat completely away from how it was originally sold to himThe biggest thing being he removed a covered structure that was attached to the boat and hauled it to the dumpHe also did a couple minor things to the trailer and elsewhere on the boatWhen *** did finally take it to the lake he left messages with *** that the boat was taking on water, there was water in the motor oil, none of the accessories worked, the motor wouldn't start and that the boat was just complete junk all togetherHe was trying to call on a Saturday evening in which we are not openHe left multiple messages and text messages threating to sue and threating our businessWhen *** did talk to Ivan, as a good faith to take care of a possible future customer and to help *** out, *** told him to bring it in and we would check it outWith *** and his friend right there we hooked water to the boat and tried to start itIt would not start because all of the accessories had been left on and drained the batteryWe grabbed a fresh battery off the shelf and hooked it upThe motor fired right up and idled great and had excellent throttle responseBefore the motor was started it was check to see if there was water in the oil but it was cleanAfter it was run it was checked again and still clean*** still insisted that the boat was faulty and was taking on waterIt is very hard to diagnose a boat taking on water without putting it in the waterWe don't have those kinds of facilities hereHe demanded that we "fix the leak" and that Shop Nois responsible for itHe again threatened to sue us and make other accusations about our company and the boat*** has already gone to social media multiple times slandering our company, and making many accusations about our companyWe have tried to reason with him but he doesn't allow you to talk to him and just talks over youEvery time that we have talked to him he threatens to sue and try to harm our business in any way possibleWe feel that we made a huge effort to make him happy when it wasn't even our responsibility to do so as he didn't buy the boat from usThe boat was not misrepresented in any way and was also sold to him from *** in an "as-is, no warranty condition"We have talked to *** girlfriend who claims to be part owner in the boat and she has even stated that he can be very hot headed and hard to deal withAs a company we have decided that we do not want to work for him as it will only leave the door open to more slander and hardshipIn closing we don't feel that we were ever misleading in the sale of this boatOur shop did not profit or try to profit from this transaction, the transaction merely took place on our propertyWe have made a recommendation to *** for another shop that does have a tank that his boat can be tested inPlease feel free to contact us for any other information that might be neededThanks, Jake W***, Owner *** ***, Owner Shop NoMarine LLC
