The store did not accept the return of a pair of broken lighted reading glasses even though the purchase means ( credit card) has been submitted.
I bought a pair of lighted reading glasses from the store on April 1st, when I opened the package I noticed that the battery holder on the handle of the glasses did not work, did not hold the batteries so batteries just fell off. I returned the glasses to the store next day and they refused to take the item and give me a refund due to corona virus, when I asked them when I can get a refund they said until this situation is over. Well, this situation might take months or years, does this mean that the store has the right to use my money I paid for a broken item but I do not have the right to get my money back, ? *** I just need my refund.

In unprecedented times, a lot of re
tailers, including Shoppers Drug Mart, have suspended customer returns and exchanges to protect both our staff and our customers due to Covid-19. As such, our company decided on March 26,2020 to suspend product returns from customers. The exchange and return period has been increased to 90 days and returns and exchanges will be restarted as soon as it's safe to do so. We are worried about the health of our staff as they are having to work with large volumes of customers who may or may not be sick. We are also discouraging customers from coming in for non-essential visits to try to limit the spread of the virus. As such, we cannot accept returns at this time. We will definitely look after all customers appropriately when it is safe to do so. I apologize that the customer cannot do the return at this time but we are trying to look out for what's best for everyone's health. We will make things right when the appropriate time comes.
