Review: I have tried on many occasions to cancel my granddaughter's swimming class membership with this company but no one ever answers my calls. In addition, I have spoken with two people early on but one said she was new at the job and didn't know what to do and promised to have the proper person call back, the other person said she will give the message to the person in charge of the swimming class and promised they would call back. No one has as of yet. I am being charged automatically by them in the amount of $28.00 each month.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of swimming class and refund for months charged where my granddaughter did not attend, since May of 2013.

I have reviewed [redacted]'s complaint carefully and have found that the [redacted] family is not being charged for $28 for swim classes each month, but rather for the single parent family membership that [redacted] has for himself and his two daughters. The credit card is charged the monthly membership installment of $28. Our member visit records show that [redacted] and his two granddaughters are currently users of our pool and/or fitness facilities (our records show that we have registered 29 check-in visits since January *, 2013.) Both girls have used our facilities after the May *, 2013 date of [redacted]'s complaint. I have also checked our swim school records and none of the [redacted] girls are registered for our program at this time and no credit card charges have been made for any swim classes. The Shorefront YM-YWHA has not charged this family for services they are not using. If the [redacted] family were to be interested in cancellin g their membership, our policy is that they simply need to give us a 30 day notice in writing. At this time we have canceled the family's membership so that no future charges will be made. If they are interested in reinstating their membership in the future, they are welcome to return at a future date. I am sorry that [redacted] did not get a clearer response to her question when she contacted the agency in the past. At this time we dispute [redacted]'s claim that the Shorefront Y should be refunding this family $84 for membership charges as these were not charges for swim classes but membership to our pool/fitness center and sauna and records show they have used the facilities during that period.
