Shoreline Apartments

After paying a $50 cash fee for a background check on two adults, we were told we would be notified by phone whether or not there were more questions and if a decision was made about ataining the apartment. There was no message left on either phone number listed. Upon call Ms [redacted] I was told due to information in our both adults criminal background that was not disclosed . Upon asking what those items were she indicated she could not discuss them with me regarding my boyfriend but could tell him, so he called her back. After that happened I called back because I was curious what was on my background that I did not include. I went into depth about some very serious and personal information regarding therapy and childhood trauma and believe that if I was that open regarding those items and offered to give any other information that I most certainly deserved to know anything that showed up that I was unaware of especially since I paid for the background checks with cash. How do I know background checks were even completed. That money could easily have been pocketed. I was very nice and never raised my voice and only asked that she return my call and inform me of what was indicated on my record since I paid for it. So that if I made a mistake I would know for future reference. I certainly didn't have to disclose the information that was extremely personal and documented over 15 years of time. I feel as if I was unjustly discriminated against.Desired SettlementI would either like a refund for the so called background checks or copies of them sent to my address to verify my money was spent to aquire them. With an apology for ignoring to return my 1 additional phone call to get my personal information. It not like I was ugly, used foul language, or constantly called them to bother them. It's in my opinion POOR personnel practice. I will never recommend them to any one looking for a place to move.
