Though we have sympathy for patient’s situation; the at home care of patient’s dentures are specifically patient’s responsibilityPatient was given oral hygiene instructions on how to properly take care of denturesFor further assistance with denture care, patient may go to any denture clinic to have dentures repaired

We made [redacted] her first set of upper denture in April and patient was very happy with the result [redacted] came back about months later stating that her midline of upper denture is off and incorrectWe agreed to make [redacted] a new upper denture at no chargeDuring the process we had [redacted] sign a form each visit during denture fabrication to make sure she was completely happy before continuingAt final visit, [redacted] stated she was happy with her new denture and signed a final form before she left our office that dayWe feel we went above and beyond our duty to make [redacted] happyWe are surprised to find that month later she called us to complain about her new dentureWe told her that we cannot keep making her a new denture just because she is not happy with something, when she was happy during the process and when she received her new denture

Every denture that we made has a minimum of 2mm in thickness or greaterDentures are made of acrylic based material and they would have been transparent if they were under 2mm thick, which they were notWe purposely do not make denture material less than 2mm thick because it would compromise the denturesUnless someone adjusted the dentures after we delivered the dentures to the patient, there is no reason for dentures to be thinAgain because the dentures are made with acrylic, if they are dropped, they will breakWe give patients written use/care instructions before they leave

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: After poor impressions DrK [redacted] took before having the 1st set of poorly designed dentures, the dentures were completely off, not only were the teeth off to the left, the whole left side was offAt the appointment where I was to see the dentures for the first timeI notice that they were off center and expressed that to DrK***where the conversation was (overheard) and witnessed by my husband [redacted] ***DrK [redacted] brushed it off, saying they will set in after the swelling goes down around my gumsThere was also a follow up appointment in which I had yet again explained that the dentures were off centerDrK [redacted] gave me a lecture on how he measured my teeth perfectly and never even did he admit to me the teeth were off center 3mm in fact he argued his point to the end by constantly over and over telling me I was wrong(I took a mental note that he did not listen to me as a customer)(This is where a professional Drwould have known I was unhappy)He did not measure to see if I was correctHe ignored me saying the teeth are off center at my follow up appointmentThe teeth were so uncomfortable that I had developed sores trying to break them inI called in May, weeks later explaining to Penna that the teeth were off center and that I need to have them fixed during my busy scheduleShe said she “would tell DrK [redacted] and get back to me”She also stated “ The longer I wait to let my gums set in and heal the less adjustments I will have to have and costing me less on my insurance bill” During the process it was the responsibility of the office to get back to me about what they were going to doDrK [redacted] never called, nor did Penna the dental assistant do any sort of dental follow upIt was almost like they were trying to avoid me I waited a couple of weeks to hear from DrK [redacted] and had to call them, yet again, to schedule the appointmentWhen I did get an appointment it was made well before the July 15thSo for DrK [redacted] to say I took months before I let them know I was “unhappy” is clearly a fabrication to the truth of the matterWe had an appointment to talk about my poorly designed denture and he spent minutes of time explaining how he measured my teeth and that he was correct according to his education, books and proceduresHe stated that I was most certainly incorrect about the dentures being off centerHe then told me that my teeth were off center from leaning my hand into my face and that during a period of time my face naturally shifted to the leftAt this point DrK [redacted] became a little hostile by raising his voice (I felt as thought he was having control issues) (he was upset he could not control me or talk me out of having another set made) and repeating over to me how he did the procedure perfectly I said, “DrK [redacted] my face never at any time shifting off to the left.” I had to remind him that I have an extra tooth on the bottom jaw and that my teeth align differently than othersI also reminded him that the teeth were so off center it was the first thing I noticed when he first inserted them in my mouthWith a voice of regret and because another client was in the office and could hear us speaking because DrK***s voice was higher than normalHe finally said, we will do them over even though I was incorrect that I was the customerHe then told me we will get back to me with a plan to start another set of denturesWhen we did start work on the second dentureI came into the office and was informed that I had to sign paper work each step of the way so that he DrK [redacted] would not get sued in court because he could no longer trust me or my opinionThat this was going to cost the laboratory and his office money and how they were also upset and demanded I sign papersIt was clear the whole “Shoreline Family Dentistry” office was unhappy with meThey became inattentive to my very most important needsI felt that DrK [redacted] was more about that he wanted to be right and I was wrong, rather than the rights I had as a client to have him make me the correct denture that would fit my features and set in my mouth comfortablyAt every appointment he had to clarify that I was wrong and he was right and I felt as though I was the “Problem Person” in the office and it made me feel like I was being controlled disrespected and getting the professional dental work I paid him forThe help, follow ups, and communication I was getting from the dental assistants was poor and vague and became less accommodating with poor communicationThey (The Dental Assistants and DrK***) showed no respect when I would show up to my appointments minutes early and could not sit down because they were all eating lunches where the clients sit and wait for an appointmentI had to go and sit in my car or walk around to make up timeThis was also another sign of nonprofessionalAgain, while there at the appointment DrK [redacted] would say we are getting your teeth done even though you are wrong When he did the waxed dentures I told him (Then) that the teeth were way to big and he said, “ They will set in when they are set in the real dentures.” I said, “can I see my other denture to compare” and he said, NO! the alignment was still off he had to adjust that and I felt there was way to much wax in my mouth and he said that was normalHe shaved off the left side of the wax denture and felt afraid he was still not listening and how uncomfortable he was making me feel and I had expressed to him that I did not think it was right that I would have to sign papers for something he is doing wrongThe next appointment I would get my upper denture put in and DrK [redacted] was pushing hard on the teeth to make them fit betterThey were again too big and he gave me a mirror and I could see that they were to bit and I asked Penna, “They are to big aren’t they” and she rolled her eyes and said, “At this point [redacted] I think you should just take what we give you“ That was a statement for the office interest not mineDrK [redacted] stated that both sets of dentures are the same and this is also incorrect as I have a photo of the last teeth and can take photos of new teeth showing you the many differences in both setsI would love nothing more than showing how incorrect these dentures areThis office was clearly not after my best interest after months of appointments, poor denture impressions, and Bad upper dentures and me just wanting my teeth (upper denture) I felt trapped corralled and pressured to sign papers, when I had no clear knowledge of what was the purpose or , was never giving my rights as to what to do and wondered if what DrK [redacted] was doingI also feel bone fragments in my gums from DrK [redacted] not cleaning the roots of the pulled teeth correctlyThis is my first time getting dentures and feel that DrK [redacted] and Shoreline Family Dentistry took full advantage of me and my family by not really listening to me and excepting me and my family to pay for Shoreline Family Dentistry’s dental mistakesSincerely, [redacted]

Patient expressed that she was happy with the first dentures she received in April On July 15, 2015, we received a phone call from the patient regarding the denture midline. The denture midline was determined by evaluating the patient’s face and drawing a perpendicular line in the middle of Inter-Pupillary line This process divides the patient’s face in half independent of deviated nose or jaw. Patient wanted her denture midline to align with her lower teeth, which were deviated ~3mm to left. We agreed to redo the dentures for the patient and advised the patient before-hand that we would like the patient to sign a consent acknowledging approval of the dentures. We did this to make sure that the patient was happy with the new alignment and how her new dentures looked. When she received her second denture that we made for her, she said she was happy with her denture and signed off on it.
Because her only complaint was the midline of her denture, we used the same size and color teeth as previous dentures We are very surprised and greatly disappointed that the patient is now complaining that her denture teeth are too big. She could have addressed this issue during her remake visits and we would have been happy to change it for her. At this point, we are unable to assist her further

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
This is not a Dental care issue, nor am I looking for sympathy Shoreline Family DentistryYou sold me a faulty partial denture and you knew it I have seen a professional Denture Clinic, Who says that the Denture was"TO THIN" and therefore rendered the denture "DEFECT', and that any professional Dentist could clearly see and said, "they were poorly made",If the Revdex.com would like I can upload a signed statement or video statement of any Denture Clinic in any areaSo I can prove this is and was never about "Denture Care"It's a you knowingly sold me a defected product issueI feel as though when asked about your dental care you go around admitting to any fault and have fought me ever step of the wayAlso why would you say "Denture Care is the issue when you have no proof or evidence of this because it's an unwarranted assumption, when you don't have proof, or evidence, your statement is unwarrantedMy statement is warranted as in I can show proof you clearly sold me a faulty productI feel that Shoreline Family Dentistry let me down in every way on getting the right services I ask forAs soon as you had me sign papers each step of the way the care you provide became vague and almost abusive and it's more important to you to control me rather than do whats right and take care of the poor service you provided in knowingly selling me a defected denture
Sincerely

We made [redacted] her first set of upper denture in April 2015 and patient was very happy with the result. [redacted] came back about 3 months later stating that her midline of upper denture is off and incorrect. We agreed to make [redacted] a new upper denture at no charge. During the process we had [redacted] sign a...

form each visit during denture fabrication to make sure she was completely happy before continuing. At final visit, [redacted] stated she was happy with her new denture and signed a final form before she left our office that day. We feel we went above and beyond our duty to make [redacted] happy. We are surprised to find that 1 month later she called us to complain about her new denture. We told her that we cannot keep making her a new denture just because she is not happy with something, when she was happy during the process and when she received her new denture.

Every denture that we made has a minimum of 2mm in thickness or greater. Dentures are made of acrylic based material and they would have been transparent if they were under 2mm thick, which they were not. We purposely do not make denture material less than 2mm thick because it would compromise the dentures. Unless someone adjusted the dentures after we delivered the dentures to the patient, there is no reason for dentures to be thin. Again because the dentures are made with acrylic, if they are dropped, they will break. We give patients written use/care instructions before they leave.

Though we have sympathy for patient’s situation; the at home care of patient’s dentures are specifically patient’s responsibility. Patient was given oral hygiene instructions on how to properly take care of dentures. For further assistance with denture care, patient may go to any denture clinic to...

have dentures repaired.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:The dentures made in april 2015 were off center and I told him that before I left the office. he said they wouldsettle into place. My husband witnessed this conversation.
I waited two weeks not three months to let him know the dentures were not correct. I have phone records to that effect and so does he. They agreed toto make me a new denture because it was dramaticallyoff center. They made a big deal out of not chargingme for the mistake they had made. This is unprofessionalnal. They kept making me sign forms during fixing Their mistakes. I stipulated to him at the end of eachof these signings that the teeth were larger than the last pair and looked and felt wrong in my mouth. He keptassuring me it would look right in the end. My husband [redacted] was with me at the first denture fitting, the first thing I told Dr. K[redacted] and his staff is that the dentures were off center. Dr. K[redacted] refused to talk about my concerns saying “wait a couple of weeks as the denture will fall into place”. My husband could hear it clearly, as the dentist area is in clear hearing rage of where my husband was sitting. We also wondered why the office was not concerned with my input of my dentures, because my gums were swollen and I was strongly medicated; I took Dr. K[redacted]'s advise and went home. After a couple of weeks the swelling went down and the off centeredness was still there. During this point in my life I started working at the local [redacted] bakery. I also had to care for my critically ill mother-in-law as she was in critical care and fighting for her life at Evergreen ICU.  We handled all her medical, financial, and boarding(assisted living) needs. I called Dr. K[redacted]'s office 2 weeks later not 3 month later. I have phone records to that effect and so does he.I expressed I was completely dissatisfied with the dentures. Penna had answered the phone and I said. “Look my dentures are still way off and I don’t know why you have not called me” as they did not do any follow up. I also said. “I have been really super busy but the fact is the dentures needed to be aligned correctly” that it was important to me and my self esteem to have the dentures. I deserved better treatment. Penna said they would call me to give me a plan. I called sometime in July and was told to come in for a meeting about my dentures. When I did tell Dr. K[redacted] the dentures were off center he said that it was because of leaning my hand into my face after all these years. At the appointment he tried to explain to me how wrong I was and gave me the details of how he measures dentures. He forgot I had an extra tooth on the bottom jaw and my teeth align differently then others and him and his denture lab look like they forget to consider this and the first dentures where off to the left side to much too. I have been going to school the last 4 years as a graphic designer and even won an award. I know about extreme details and felt correct. He would not consider these errors. He did say he felt I was wrong and that he would make another pair of dentures because after all I am the customer but I was wrong. He ended the appointment by saying we will call you. He always had a fast come back followed by ignoring my concerns and needs. The office did call to tell me that we would start procedures and I would have to sign a document after each appointment. I said fine lets just get this done. They took one impression and sent it in. When they had me come back to test the wax denture. I noticed they were to big. I told Dr. K[redacted] they were to big and he said, they would settle in on the real dentures. I asked again, Why are the teeth so much bigger than the other teeth can I compare with my other dentures and they would not let me compare. I also asked for the alignment to be correct. I thought Dr. K[redacted] was right about the teeth not being as big once there were set. When I did get the teeth. I could see they were to big. Dr. K[redacted] disagreed and I told Penna my teeth are way to big. She looked at me and said. I think they look fine and you just better go with these. I never understood why I had to sign papers when it was the dentist that was in error not me. I felt cornered and corralled during this whole denture nightmare. I signed the papers after I stipulated my concerns he assured me my concerns would be addressed. [redacted]
