We installed sod for Mr*** on May 13, Both varieties of the grass that we installed (Centipede and StAugustine) were healthy and a vibrant green and freshly harvested First *** (my maintenance supervisor), installed the Centipede in the front yard in the morning and
soaked it down with the water hose himself *** then had to go back and picked up the StAugustine and bring it back to install in the backyard When *** returned, Mr*** was watering the front yard with a sprinkler *** installed the StAugustine in the back yard and instructed Mr*** that it would need to be watered heavily daily and possibly twice a day and to keep an eye on the weather If it were to rain, then he would need to water less He told *** that he had some scheduling conflicts as far as my crew needing to be finished up by 7pm that night if he was going to have time to start watering the grass My crew finished at 7pm *** then knocked on the door, walked the yard with Mr*** where he expressed his satisfaction and then told *** he would handle the watering on the back that evening All harvested sod has a critical period where it needs moisture to generate new roots That is within the first days If the grass goes without being soaked down enough for the soil underneath to be totally saturated-minimally daily, the sod will dry out and not produce new roots and the sod will die Mr*** contacted us via text message on May 18th and sent pictures of dead brown sod We told him it was a watering issue and he claimed he was not told how often to water which is not correct. We have laid approximately pallets of sod this year so far and have not had any issues with sod dying Mr *** does not have an irrigation system We never gave a guarantee, verbal or written, for the life of the grass We cannot do that because we can not be responsible for watering customer's grass on a daily basis without a costly service contract In the last years in business, I have never secured one from any customer The only solution I can offer Mr *** at this point is to have him purchase the sod from us for $a pallet for the StAugustine plus $delivery, totaling $and $per pallet for the Centipede plus $delivery, totaling $ We will lay it for him at no charge He would need to remove the dead grass or we can remove it for $ We still will not be able to guarantee the life of his grass after it is installed green and healthy Thanks,*** ***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:[redacted] is not telling the truth, instead, the following is exactly what happened:
[redacted] did not tell me how much I needed to water the sod before he left
He told me,"You need to get water on it as soon as possible." To me,
this meant to water it that night, and that is what I did.I watered it once a
day for a week, even though after two or three days it turned yellow and most
of it has died.
Regards,
