Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regards, [redacted] I took the car to another mechanicHe said the EGR valve was installed backwards That would explain why the car did not have enough power to reach MPH, the squealing noise and smell of exhaust in the carThe issues listed in your response are not problems that would cause the problems that exist with the car after your work Did anyone at your shop drive the car after the parts were installed? It should have been obvious from the smell of exhaustObviously a cracked mounting bracket and dented hood does not cause that problem When I picked up the car at the end of the day on wednesday the receipt and the keys were in the front seat No employee was available to talk about the condition of the carWhen I started the engine it sounded bad but I assumed the work had been done correctlyAs soon as I realized there was trouble I phoned your businessMy phone call was not answered I had to be at work the next day in lexington so I had to drive mph on US after driving in the emergency lane to the first exit The car was promised on tuesday and was not ready until the end of the day wednesday because the bolts would not come loose and had to be lubricated overniight before work could be done The car was left at your facility mid afternoon on monday Is your mechanic so inexperienced and poorly trained that he would be surprised that a year old car would need to be lubricated before loosening the bolts associated with a part of the engine that is hot The EGR valve and catalytic converter needed to be replaced I am willing to pay for those parts Because the installation was not performed correctly I want a refund for the labor Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to *** ** ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved
Regards,

I spoke with *** *** today about her misunderstanding with the A/C Service we performedI explained to her that freon is not something that we just pour in the vehicle and it requires a machine to evacuate and charge the systemI explained that we add dye to the system also to help in finding
A/C leaks since freon is a gas and can't be seen with the naked eyeI believe after I explained the Procedure, *** *** was okay with the charges and understood the procedure*** *** also asked about the money she had left in the car that she claims is missingI told her that we have cameras in our shop and that I welcomed her to have the police review our cameras to give her peace of mind that no one at Springdale would take her moneyI am waiting for her to schedule the Police to do the reviewRegards* *** ***

I took the car to another mechanic. He said the EGR valve was installed backwards.
That would explain why the car did not have enough power to reach 50 MPH, the squealing noise and smell of exhaust in the car. The issues listed in your response are not problems that would cause  the problems that exist with the car after your work.
Did anyone at your shop drive the car after the parts were installed? It should have been obvious from the smell of exhaust. Obviously a cracked mounting bracket and dented hood does not cause that problem.
When I picked up the car at the end of the day on wednesday the receipt and the keys were in the front seat.   No employee was available to talk about the condition of the car. When I started the engine it sounded bad but I assumed the work had been done correctly. As soon as I realized there was trouble I phoned your business. My phone call was not answered.
I had to be at work the next day in lexington so I had to drive 40 mph on US 60 after driving in the emergency lane to the first exit.  The car was promised on tuesday and was not ready until the end of the day wednesday because the bolts would not come loose and had to be lubricated overniight before work could be done.  The car was left at your facility mid afternoon on monday.  Is your mechanic so inexperienced and poorly trained that he would be surprised that a 12 year old car would need to be lubricated before loosening the bolts associated with a part of the engine that is hot.
The EGR valve and catalytic converter needed to be replaced.   I am willing to pay for those parts.  Because the installation was not performed correctly  I want a refund for the labor.
Sincerely,

Dear Valued Customer,I understand your concern, and I am sorry you feel that we are to blame for the running issues you are experiencing. After we initially received your vehicle, we gave you the inspection sheet that listed everything we found causing your vehicle to not preform the way it should....

The Escape is severely overdue for a long list of services, one of them being a tune-up. The drivability issue that you are mentioning here is due to the misfires in the engine. When you brought your vehicle to us, you advised us that you only wanted to do what was absolutely necessary to keep it running. You were not concerned with the safety issues we informed you about... such as the suspension issues, the broken motor mount, the worn drive belt and tensioner, or the misfires. The issue we corrected (the EGR Valve that had removed itself from the manifold due to the Catalytic Converter being clogged) was done correctly and to our standards. If you have a problem with the parts or service you authorized, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to correct it. But, we cannot be blamed for issues that you are experiencing which are directly related to the overdue services that you denied, and not to the services we were authorized to take care of. Thank you for your business and for supporting a locally owned and operated company. Have a great day!Sincerely,Manager at Springdale Automotive in J-Town
