Shorewood Resort

Vacationers beware of visiting this resort. Our family stayed there for a week in July 2015. The cabins were adequate for the price, and the location was good. Our issues were with the very aggressive/rude regular interaction with the owners. The A/C kept tripping its circuit, and we were accused of using too many circuits (even though only lights were using electricity. Owner later acknowledge the wiring of the cabin was done on the cheap and likely not done correctly. The pontoon we rented from the same owner had no working gauges or live well, and ran poorly. At one point the owner approached us on the water and demanded we return the pontoon because we were abusing it by overloading it....we had 11 passengers and it was rated by the owner on his website as having a capacity of 16. He is obsessed about the grounds, and monitors foot traffic on the lawns and even yelled angrily at a young girl in our party for briefly leaving a scooter on a sidewalk. The owner has many rules that are unspoken, and visitors learn of them when an "infraction" occurs. When attempting to rationally discuss one of those "infractions", the owner stated "I am a multi-millionaire and don't need your money...I gave you a good deal and now you are abusing me". All in all it was a very uncomfortable stay....felt like we were walking on egg shells the whole week, and we were relieved to leave the property.
