No Binghamton, NY Service
We need services from Monticello-Binghamton NY this route include Livingston Manor cause we done have any way of transportation plus we don't have Covid 19 here (just 12). We don't understand what it's the problem since March we done have this essential service.

Shortline Drivers: This is just getting worse and worse. Taking the Eastside bus at 7:09 from Central Valley and this driver Andre is a nightmare. It clear stress on their duty sheet to make courtesy stop but he tells us what he’s not going to do. He is so rude and just awful. Again, we are at the mercy of Shortline. I know we will see the day where they will have competition. A couple of nights ago Shortline decided to train drivers on the Eastside in the middle of rush hour and while their bosses were enjoying time with their families after a hard day at work we were faced with a two (2) and half hour commute. You complain to their bosses and they say it’s inappropriate to call him while their enjoying their time with their family. Well excuse us because you lack common sense and compassion for those we can’t see their families. I’m asking legislators to experience the awful experience of riding with Shortline and allow other companies to give them competition. The nightmare continues.

On Saturday 10/ [redacted] I bought tickets online to the Oktoberfest shuttle from Port Authority to Anthony Wayne Rec Center on 10/* On Sunday we arrived at the Port Authority, were given our Oktoberfest tickets and waited for the bus When the bus arrived the driver and another employee told us there was no more shuttle to Oktoberfest that day We went back to the ticket counter and the lady called someone who told us the same thing We tried to get a refund but were told it was an online purchase so we needed to contact the company The hours of business according to their site and according to the phone message are M-F 9- I first called at and was told that the woman who does refunds leaves at 3: I called the next day at and was told the woman who does refunds had already left I just want my $back It's ridiculous that this company would have a single person doing refunds who never works

My son is a college freshman and needed to take the Coach USA/Short line bus from Ridgewood NJ to Hamilton NY (connecting thru BingHampton NY) on 10/* at 2:55pmWe arrived early and a bus arrived and started boarding kidsI told my son to make sure and confirm with the driver it was the correct bus since we didn’t marking on the side of the busThere might have been markings on the front on the bus but we couldn’t see since this bus stop is on very busy Rt My son told me the driver was on the phone the entire time the kids were boarding and he waited to board last hoping to talk to himThe driver never hung up the phoneHe politely interrupted and asked if the bus was goin to Binghamton and said the driver shook his head yes but didn’t say anythingMy son boarded the bus and a little while later the driver can aboard and took everyone’s ticket, including my son’sThe driver didn’t say anything when taking my sons’s ticket nor did he make any announcement about where the bus

Coach Shortline USA has one of the worst customer services I have ever experiencedI was traveling from NY city to Middletown NY when I left my bag in the bus accidentallySo I was told to contact the lost and found department in Chester NYThe lost and found department never EVER picked up my callThey sent me to voicemail every timeAnd I called several timesOne time I called them right before I asked an agent at the Middletown shortline bus terminal to call the same departmentAnd of course, they picked her call but never answered mineI had family members of mine call the same number and they had the exact same experience as meEXTREMELY poor customer service, and I still have no idea what the status of my bag isNo one will answer my call or call me back

I have been in touch with Management at the Binghamton Terminal who is in charge of this bus and driverManagement checked the GPS of the bus and spoke with the driver and both show this bus was where it was supposed to be on timeThis bus also departed on time. We will be bringing this
driver in for a Union Hearing to determine if further action is needed

I wrote the following email to Short Line customer service (***) and have received no response:
I have left several messages on both the “customer service” and “refunds” extensions of the Shortline phone number to discuss an issue regarding a trip from Ridgewood NJ to Ithaca NY on Sunday November *** I paid $for a roundtrip ticket for my daughter and would like a refund
I was with my daughter when she boarded the bus in Ridgewood NJ at 10:am There was a Shortline representative at the bus stop (in addition to the bus driver) providing boarding instructions The Shortline employee told everyone in line that the bus was only stopping at *** *** Anyone going to Binghamton needed to wait for another bus that would be arriving shortly My daughter was the first person to board the bus (after arriving minutes early) At the time of boarding the driver took her complete ticket since it was to be a direct trip

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have also sent messages to [redacted]. I am not sure what you see on your GPS but the bus was not at the bus station where it was supposed to be according to the program I received when I purchased the ticket. The program states the bus pickup is 4:15AM at Cornell North Campus CC LOT. This bus was parked in the close by A LOT and drove by on the other side of the road when it approached the pick up location. It did not even spend 1 minute at the pick up location. [redacted]I was at the bus stop at 3:50AM. I saw the bus parked at A Lot when I got to my pick up location. A Lot is close by CC Lot where the pick up location is.  At 4:05AM I walked over to A Lot to get on it. The driver was sleeping, I couldn't get on the bus so I went back to the pick up location by CC Lot next to RPCC and waited.  At 4:08 a coach usa bus entered the CC Lot. I thought that was my bus as it said New York City on it and the pick up location in the program clearly states that it is Cornell North Campus CC Lot. As I approached the driver, he pointed out to the location where I had been waiting for the bus and told me that his bus isn't my bus. I turned around and walked towards the bus stop. At that moment I see the bus that was parked at A Lot driving away. I started running after it but it did not stop. The bus slowed down but did not stop. It did not even spend 5 seconds to see if there are passengers that want to get on. The bus always parks by RPCC and is there for at least 10 minutes. After the fact I spoke to the bus driver that showed me where to wait for the bus and he can confirm that the bus was not there and it did not stop. He called in in an attempt to help me and he knows the bus did not stop. He offered to take me the following ride but I had missed my Megabus connection and I had to be in NYC by 10:00AM.
The map that I provided along with the captions should be checked against you GPS to verify that what I say is 100 percent correct. Again, A LOT is in the proximity of CC LOT but they are not one and the same. The bus stayed parked in A LOT until 4:15AM. It should have been parked at the bus stop instead. Please see attachment as it will help you understand what really happened.

Review: For the past 6 months the bus driver on the 5:50 a.m. Wall Street bus is arriving at the last stop in Manhattan (Wall Street) late. According to the schedule, the bus is to arrive at 6:55. Today, the bus arrived 15 minutes late.

I have spoken and written emails to Mr. George G[redacted] and Ms. Ann B[redacted] about the tardy service, but despite taking Route 17, the bus driver is still late. When I confronted the bus driver of his tardiness, he held me and other passengers as hostages in the bus at the last stop and he would not open the door to let us out. In addition, this bus driver drives under the standard 55 mph. He drives at 45 mph on the highway. For example, today, it took the bus driver 20 minutes to get to route 17 from Smith Street, Nanuet. This should take no longer than 10 minutes.

This bus driver has caused me pain, anguish, and high blood pressure, which can lead to a stroke and/or death. I would like Mr. G[redacted] to remove this driver from the 5:50 Wall Street route and replace him with someone who is efficient and effective. After all, this is a commuter express bus, not a tour bus. I pay $280.00 per month for this service.Desired Settlement: 1. Replace the bus driver

Response:

We are in receipt of your complaint I.D. [redacted]. This was directed to one of our sister companies in Binghamton N.Y. which has nothing to do with the service the complaint is related to. The correct entity is [redacted]We are aware of the issue with the driver of the 5:50 AM bus from Smith Street in Rockland County New York. This bus is schedules to arrive at it's final destination at 6:55 AM. It seldom arrives at this time. It generally arrives around 7:05 to 7:15. The customer insists it is due to the driver driving well below the speed limit. We do not find this to be the case. The GPS on this bus generally indicates he drives at exactly the posted speed limit. When we have a different driver on this route (like we do this week due to the vacation of the regular driver) he generally can get there by6:55 AM. This is because most drivers exceed the speed limit; something the commuters like until there is an accident and then they sue us. [redacted] indicated that the majority of riders needed to get in by 7 AM. Because of this we proposed starting the bus 10 minutes earlier. This was met with angry protests and a petition from the other riders. Per the petition the majority of the r iders did not want to go any earlier. We left the schedule as is and changed the route to save some time. It appears to be working better. There is no option to change the driver as he is a senior member of the T.W.U. and as far as we can tell has not done anything to warrant being terminated. As to the allegation that he "held passengers hostage" I told [redacted] that if this was the case she should have called 911 immediately. There were no other complaints from other riders that they were held hostage. We understand that [redacted] would like to be in her office by 7:00 AM but we cannot change our schedule to please one rider. Please let us know if you need any additional information.

Review: I was to take a coachusa bus from Ithaca, NY to Binghamton, NY at 4:15AM this morning from [redacted] CC Lot. The bus drove by at 4:16 and did not stop at all. Assuming that a bus that was driving by could be my bus, I ran after it but was not able to get the driver to see me. That was my bus as I did not see any other bus for the next hour I spent waiting. From my past experience the busses always stop in front of RPCC next to CC Lot and wait for passengers. This bus did not stop, it drove by.

Because of this I missed my 6:10AM Binghamton, NY Megabus connection to New York City. Shouldn't you be responsible for refunding back the cost of the missed connection? It's not a refundable ticket per Megabus policies, but somebody ought to be responsible for the driver not stopping at the pick up location.Desired Settlement: Pay for my missed Megabus fare.
