This complaint went to *** * who forwarded to me, *** ***
operations manager at Show Me Rent To Own where the customer was renting from, not *** *. Mr*** did come in to our store at Perry plaza and rent a bedroom set, a couch set, a freezer and another bedThe bedroom set was packaged with a mattress set up on the showroom floorMr*** actually laid on the mattress and said I like and will take this dealThis was 2/5/This is where Mr*** story gets off the track as to what he says in his statement and the truthAfter days or so he or his son called and said to *** the assistant manager the Mattress is too soft and hurts Mr*** back can we get a firm one and swap it? *** said sure, she will call the other stores and see if they have one in stock and if not will have to order one which could take up to days to arriveShe called all the stores and there was none so called Mr*** and told him we would order oneFine he saidThen on 2-16-he called the store and was yelling at her where was the firm mattress? She tried to tell him it was on order and would be shipped in to the store and arrive 2-20-He kept yelling so she turned the phone over to *** who works there and said to him just come pick your stuff up and *** said if that's what you want we can do that but you have paid up to March 10th and you know there is no refund on rent but you can sure keep the items until the 10th when your rent is up then return it.Meanwhile the son *** called me 2-16-as I handle and resolve customer complaints like thisHe kept telling me how it was taking too long to get the firm mattress in and I told him several times that it was ordered and is shipped from out of state at the control of the shipperAt the end of our conversation he was happy enough that it would be in soon, would be swapped out and the rent that had been paid would carry over to the new mattress. The on Monday 2-19-They call again and tell us come pick it all up after all but for one account and just put all the rent they paid on the other accounts on that one so the payoff will be cheaper on it*** the store manager told them again, "no we can not do that, the money you paid is for rent is on those accounts and the agreement you signed and initialed says plainly there is no refund on rent if you return something early"Come and get your stuff today he saidWe set up a time and when we got there he said I'm not letting you get it until the cops get hereAn officer showed up talked to him and said to our guys I don't know why I am here since he told you come pick it up but will set and wait till you finish which he didWe picked up our stuff and leftOur guys did not see or touch any medicineThey are young, healthy workers that laughed when I told them he accused them of stealing his medsWhy would we need nerve, heart, diabetes medicine? Maybe Mr*** was already out of medicine as he says in his statement "on Saturday 2-he called" which that is this coming Saturday. In summary : Mr*** signed agreements that said there was no refund on rentWe told him at least twice there was no refund and he could certainly keep the items and get the use of his rent until it came due again and then send it back if still wanted too. We made a special order to get the firm mattress he wanted and had to order more stuff we did not need to make shipping minimum It arrived on 2-as promisedIt is a joke we stole his medicineHe should make a police report if thinks that's true! We went out of our way to help Mr*** get a special mattress but he made the choice to send everything back when all he had was an issue with a mattress he originally picked out that we tried to resolve. *** ***Vice President Of OperationsShow Me Rent To Own

She has had the bed the whole time. We only charge a $5 reinstatement fee for past due charges. She's accumulating $37.90 in fees that have rolled over. When she was here, I talked to her and took her payment. She was supposed to come back...

with the rest of the payment, but the last time we have heard from her was June 6. She was late 16 times. I will take these fees off if she comes in and takes care of her past due amount.
