I am rejecting this response because: I contact the business and they said they couldn't refund the money back because the bank paid them. They both gave me the run around and my husband did call Capital Credit Union back but they refused to refund the fee.

I am writing in regards to Complaint ID of [redacted]. The disputed amount in the complaint is $40.00. On May 5, 2017, a draft was presented to the Credit Union in the amont of $76.47, however there was only $8.27 available in the account that the draft was presented. The draft was honored and paid,...

bringing the account negative, and charging a $40.00 fee, per our fee schedule. The member did speak to one of our representatives and stated that she had placed a stop payment on that draft. Our representative stated that if our member would contact the company and have them refund the amount that was presented, we would refund the fee that was charged. The representative did not hear back from our member regarding this transaction. The account has since been closed. Thank you for allowing us to respond to our members concern.  It can be quite frustrating when trying to place a stop payment on an automatic draft, and believe that it did go through with the merchant, then to find out that they did not in fact stop the draft, and be charged a fee for not having sufficient funds.  The Credit Union would have been happy to assist the member to ensure that the draft had been stopped if we were contacted prior to when it was to be submitted.  Since the merchant has refused to return the funds, even though our member had placed a stop payment on the automatic draft with the company, the credit union will be willing to make an exception and refund the fee to our member.  Since her account is closed, if she could please inform us if she would like the funds in her other account with the Credit Union or a check mailed to her at the address on file. Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: In 2004, I answered an "Open Call" advertisement in the then Journal News for this company. I met with a representative, a [redacted], who promised to take photos for office use and then work with me to market my head shots to modeling agencies. [redacted] collected a total of $1,296 via debit card from me, for which I have documentation and a bill of sale for. The representative took thse digital pictures of me and told me to call him the following week. When I called the business the next week, the phone number rang and rang. I took it a step further and visited the office and it was closed. I continued to try for weeks after to contact this business with no success. I realize it's been 9 years since this event, but I just recently found this documentation. I am filing this complaint not just for myself but for the many other clients that no doubt have gotten their money taken and no services rendered.Desired Settlement: I'd like a refund of my money paid, for which no services were rendered and for other victims of this business' unethical practices to have the opportunity to have justice served.
