Showcase Automotive & Recovery Reviews (3)

Review: I brought my running 2007 [redacted] to Showcase to get the upper control arms and an alternator fixed. When the work was "done" and I picked the vehicle up, not even 24 hours later the whole steering system seemed off. It would lock up as it pleased. I brought it back and they said it was a bad alternator. They fixed it for free as they should have. After I got it back this time, not even 24 hours later the transmission started to act up and the "vsc", "check engine" and "lock" lights were all lit up in the dash. A few hours later the transmission failed. I brought it back to Showcase AGAIN. They said it was torque converter . I did not want them working on the car so I had them drop it off to my address. When they dropped it off the battery was dead, the key pad on the key was broke, the microphone to my Bluetooth hands free phone device was broken, and the window was rolled down.Desired Settlement: I want all of my money back and I would like my car to be running like it was... NOT in worse condition.

Review: On December 2, 2014, my car overheated on 229 in [redacted] CT. [redacted] sent Showcase Auto to recover the vehicle and the driver took me to the Showcase Automotive shop for the repairs. Showcase first told me that the radiator and the ECM computer needed to be replaced, and later they said it was the radiator and some temperature sensors. After several weeks without my car, I picked up the supposedly fixed car on Christmas Eve, December 24. The final repairs were for a new radiator and some sensors totaling a little more than $980. The following night, around midnight on Christmas, I was driving the vehicle and it overheated again - a little more than 24 hours after picking up the car. This time I was in [redacted] and the next day I had the car towed to another auto mechanic in [redacted]. The new mechanic informed me that the fan was not properly re-installed at the time of repair and it punctured the new radiator. Additionally, he said that in fact the computer did need to be replaced, plus the previously replaced sensors. Showcase Auto agreed to warranty the radiator, but said we had to ship them the old radiator before they could ship a new one. Additionally, they agreed to pay the radiator shipping costs, and refund the cost of labor on the radiator repair. To date, I have not received refund on the cost of labor, nor the cost of the radiator shipping ($340+$63). After several calls and an email to Showcase Auto, I feel I have no other choice but to file this complaint.

Overall, I am very disappointed in first the service I received on the repair of the car which I believe to be very shoddy work, and also disappointed in the subsequent lack of responsive customer service from their office.Desired Settlement: I wish to be refunded for the total cost of the original repairs, which in fact did not repair the car at all.

Review: I believe that my part (Fuel Pump) was put in when it was not in need of repair. I was first told it was the issue but when they put it in my vehicle still didnt start. I have had my vehicle at this garage since 7/31/13 - 8/6/13 and its still not fixed. I have asked what is wrong & why they cant fix it and was told it may be the modeule sensor which is a $600 part and I have told them not to put it in. I am not happy that I was given a part for my vehicle & it still doesnt work. They charged me $489.32.

Vehicle was towed into us by AAA. Customer Vehicle died on the highway. Our Mechanic tested the vehicle and found no fuel pressure. Fuel pump was tested and found to be no good. We called the customer and told them the problem and gave them a price and said to go ahead and replace the pump. After pump was replaced vehicle would still not start but fuel pump is now giving pressure and fuel to motor. Another problem was found with the vehicle which we could not figure out. The Computer was not giving us any codes to go off of. We called other shops we work with to help diagnose the issue. They were clueless also. We recommended the owner bring the jeep to the dealer for further work, because it was beyond our capabilities. The dealer came up with a solution that we could not find. We still have the fuel pump here in our office with a blown motor to prove to the customer the pump was blown and we did not replace something that was not broken. Their receipt is also here with the pump for them to pick up because we delivered the jeep to the dealer for them. They paid us with credit card over the phone agreeing with the charges and the work done to the vehicle. We are an honest company and do not fix what is not broken.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

I only agreed to fixing the fuel pump when I was told by [redacted] the owner that was the problem & it would fix my car. When they put that part in & it still did not work we had to take it to the shop we first wanted to but the tow truck driver who works with this shop talked my husband out of it. We had it at this place for 6 days & they couldn't figure it out. Yet Papa's Dodge had it for 1 day & fixed the problem. I spoke to two different mechanics that said the fuel pump would not make the car die in the road so they should have known this being a car repair shop. I feel like I was ripped off and was never give a chance to look at any part when I was there but now they have it? How do I know that this is a part from my vehicle. Also I had to pay them for the work in order to get my car fixed & delivered to Papa's Dodge. Who by the way stated that they bring all repairs to them that they cant fix so it seems to me that they have others do work since they can't figure out hard jobs. I think they should stick to towing & not having there drivers talk people into using them when they cant fix the problem. It cost me $500 extra to go with them. I am not happy & do not want to do any business with them ever again.
