Review: Builder took 3 months longer to complete home than was originally quoted.

The lot required a lot of fill dirt to level out land but the fill dirt brought was filled with clay and sand. Plants and grass planted in the areas that were filled barely grow and large areas of ground are bare. When the lot was leveled with the heavy equipment the ground was wet and now is uneven and hazardous during any outdoor activities. The landscaper said it would need to be redone near the beginning of September to allow for grass to begin sprouting before fall but the builder has not resent the landscaper.

We paid for wood floors throughout the living spaces and matching stairs, the top step was not leveled and flexes/creaks when stepped on, builder has not sent anyone out to fix.

Walls were only painted with 1 coating and drywall is visible throughout the house as well as rubbing off with minimal effort. We have not hung anything on the walls as we need to paint them all.

Drywall in garage was taped and minimal effort was made to seal joints with compound. Painting the garage was not part of the contract but the garage should be ready for painting and not the way it was left.

We needed to move in asap and close on the house as we had already extended at the apartment for 3 months longer than expected, we expected the builder to honor his 1 year guaranty to fix these issues.Desired Settlement: Scrape the sand/clay off the lot or make it able to grow landscaping. Redo seeding of grass or put in sod if the uneven ground won't allow seed to stay in place with rain/watering. Level out lot over septic field.

Repair top step so it doesn't creak.

Paint a 2nd coating on walls if contract did not specifically say only 1 coating would be applied.

Finish sealing joints in garage and fill gaps where needed.

After speaking [redacted] on 11/6/13 he stated the yard is complete and he is waiting for his subcontractor to come out and fix the steps.
