Complaint: ***
I I did western union to commit to buy the vehicle. It is listed on the Bill of Sale as a "payment or deposit" There is no extended service contract the paperwork that I have from showcaseThere is also no where in any of this documentation that there are any extended service contract available for an additional cost.
They agreed to deliver the truck and coordinated a time with the individual to do so. They showed up a different time when they specifically were told he would not be available and they dropped off the truck and took the check from his wife at the hotel when he was not available to inspect the vehicle. When he returned to the hotel he called me immediately and let me know the check engine light was on. I called Showcase and they led me to believe that it was nothing and the truck was fine. When he got the truck back to Katy we immediately drove it to Auto Zone to have them check the code. The Low Coolant light was also on. We took of the coolant cap and water, not coolant blew out of the container all over the engine. I took the vehicle to the dealership where the following day they called to inform me that the truck likely has a cracked engine block or a blown head The repairs could be a minimum of and if the motor was cracked it would cost 11,000. I had the service manager for the dealership contact Showcase on 3way to discuss this.
Of course I did not accept on a repair for a new motor that was going to cost 11,000.
I was informed about his non refundable deposit in the parking lot in San Antonio after I had trailered the truck back to him from Katy. I cashed his check immediately so that if there was a stop payment on it I would be able to address him while I was still in San Antonio. I did agree to purchase the truck if he got it fixed. I made several phone calls and text to him after this to get an update on the status of the vehicle. I have phone records of proof of that. He did not return any calls. Instead I logged into his sight and saw that the truck was back up for sale for the same amount that I paid for it. Now the site reflects the truck sold
Whether I see any additional money from this dealer consumers need to be aware of his practices. It is not doing the right to fraudulently sell vehicles when there are known defectsam rejecting this response because:

I purchased a car from this place and had to debate with the owner on every issue the car was not inspected, he tried to over charge for a warranty, The car was dirty and had no gas at time of delivery. As soon as I brought these issues up the dealer asked what do expected for a used car. He was supposed to fix a minor issue with the car and every time I called his mechanic was unavailable or his mother was sick and he was unavailable.

The customer sent Showcase Motors a $500 nonrefundable deposit by means of Western Union on June 2, 2014 for the purchase of a 2007 Chevrolet 2500.  Showcase Motors is a used car dealership which all vehicles are purchased “As Is – No Warranty”, however we do offer our...

customers an Extended Service Contract which was declined.
The customer then stated that he would not be able to pick up vehicle for about a week or two and asked us to store it for him until he could make arrangements to pick it up.  Which we did store it for him free of charge.  On June 13, 2014 the customer asked if we could accommodate him by dropping the 2007 Chevrolet 2500 at the JW Marriott to his friend that was vacationing in San Antonio.  Showcase Motors agreed and drove 45 minutes each way to deliver the vehicle to the customer’s friend who was then responsible to deliver the vehicle to our customer back to Katy, TX.
On June 17, 2014 our customer called and stated he was having trouble with the vehicle and had taken it to get checked.  Showcase Motors indicated that we had not had any indications of that vehicle having any mechanical problems prior to the delivery of the vehicle.  We always allow our vehicles to be test driven and even taken to a mechanic prior to their purchase.  Still Showcase Motors wanted to do what was right for our customer.  Showcase Motors had never been in this type of a situation. Showcase Motors offered the customer $2000 to help with any repairs that may need to be done or to take the vehicle back with $1000 restocking fee.  We advised the customer that the vehicle had been held for him since June 2nd and it was now June 17, 2014.
The customer agreed to bring the 2007 Chevrolet 2500 back with the $1000 restocking fee, however indicated that if we would fix the vehicle he was still interested in purchasing it.  The vehicle was traileredback to San Antonio on June 19, 2014.  We then gave the customer a reimbursement check back minus the $500 Nonrefundable deposit and the $1000 restocking fee which he had already agreed upon.  The customer stated that he was still interested in purchasing the vehicle if we could get it fixed and would hold on to the check until we could get back to him. The customer actually cashed the check the same day and we never heardback from the customer.
At this point Showcase Motors decided that the customer was not interested in repurchasing the vehicle since he had already cashed the check and since we got the 2007 Chevrolet 2500 back with mechanical issues we decided just to sell the 2007 Chevrolet 2500 at auction under Red Light. Which is exactly what we did.
Showcase Motors feels that we went above and beyond to accommodate our customer.  We tried to be fair and offer him $2000 or the opportunity bring vehicle back with $1000 restocking fee.  He decided to bring vehicle back, he cashed the check the same day and Showcase Motors did not re-sell the vehicle to anyother customer it was sold at auction.
Many other dealers that we had spoken to stated the vehicle was sold “As Is”, but we still tried to do what we felt was right for our customer.

The worst business I have ever dealt with. Completely fraudulent business dealings and takes no responsibility.

Review: I purchased a car from showcase motors. 2 days later it was leaking transmission fluid. I called [redacted] at showcase motors and he told me he was aware of it because he had replaced a seal on the transmission.(i never would have bought it if I knew of tranny problems). He said to bring it back and he would take care of it. 3 weeks later and I have no car. At first he wouldnt tell me where it was. Last week he said it was at [redacted] but im not allowed to call there because the owner is mean and won't fix my car. Now every time I call [redacted] he gives me no info about my car. He gives me excuses(his mom is in the hospital ans doesn't have time to deal with me) and hangs up on me. Not only did he sell me a lemon he has stolen my car from me! I don't know where it is. I don't know what to do. I paid for this car in full almost a month ago and have driven it once. I paid well over Kelley blue book price so I expected the car to run correctly. Never ever go to showcase motors unless you want headaches and problems. Just throw you're hard earned money away.Desired Settlement: I would just like my car repaired like he said and given back to me. It needs a new transmission so I hope that's what he's doing to it and not just covering up the problem like he did when he sold it to me.

Review: My fiance and I purchased a vehicle from Showcase on January 13th, 2016. From the day we drove it off the lot until now we have had nothing but problems with the vehicle and the owner. When we returned home from the dealer, we immediately noticed that the car's inspection stickers were expired. Upset that we were not told that the car wasn't inspected and upset with ourselves for not noticing this before we left, we called the owner Barry who said this wasn't a problem and he would take it to his mechanic to have it inspected. Two days later we picked it up with new inspection stickers. An HOUR after leaving the shop, the check engine light came on. We took it to a local mechanic that same day who ran the codes to see what was wrong and it came back with a bad EGR Valve. I called the shop where the vehicle had been inspected, but they were closed for the day. I called the next business day and spoke with some guy at the shop--I explained what had happened and asked if he would take another look at it. He said they were closed (MLK day) and hung up. We tried calling Barry at Showcase but got no answer. Two days later (still no phone call from Barry) my fiance was driving the vehicle locally when the steering wheel locked and the motor died. Furious, I called Barry and explained everything that was going on and said that I wanted to return the vehicle and get my money back. He claimed that the EGR valve could have easily caused the car to stall out and that it would be easy for him to replace. I told him that I really wasn't interested and I really just wanted to return the car and take my business elsewhere. He claimed there was no way he could do that since we purchased the vehicle "as-is" but he would help fix it. The vehicle is now in the shop with a mechanic we trust and they informed me this afternoon that the entire transmission will need to be replaced! I asked my mechanic how it could have possibly passed inspection just days before if there were so many issues and his response was, "There's no way it should have." I have had this vehicle for 8 DAYS and have driven it TWICE. This has been one of the most awful experiences I've ever had and obviously if I had known about any of these issues beforehand, I would NEVER have purchased the vehicle. Showcase's website certainly made no mention of it, nor did the owner at the time we purchased it.Desired Settlement: I have no further interest in this vehicle or the dealer. I want to tow this thing back to Showcase Motors and be refunded in full ($6,003.17).

Review: I purchased a used Jeep Wrangler from the owner several weeks ago. As part of the sale the dealer was to install a new battery, fix the 4x4 low linkage to allow to engage, and have the inspection and emissions done on the vehicle. Due to the new battery the jeep needed to be driven to allow the computer to reset for emissions and this was done by my family. When we took it to be inspected the emissions would not pass due to a vacuum leak in the car. We left the jeep at the dealer to have the repairs done and testing completed. This was a week ago. I had my father calling and handling this for me as I am out of town during the week and he was not getting any return phone calls from the dealer. I started calling from my phone and got thru only to be told that they would check and call back in 10 minutes. never a return call. To top off the items the dealer still has the jeep listed on his web site as available and for sale. I purchased this for my son who turns 16 this weekend and wanted this to be his present. I am left once again trying to contact the dealer and find out the status of the vehicle.

A) Customer service (Call back you customers and tell them what is going on)

B) Remove the cars once you sold the vehicle from your web site. (They cashed my checks!)

C) Be a stand up location and don't be the stereo type USED car salesman.

Barry the owner has been getting calls from me regularly and always letting them go to voice mail. Tell me what the status of the car is.Desired Settlement: As Stated above finish the job and have the vehicle inspected and emissions so that we can complete our business and use this as a wakeup call on how to handle you customer communications.

Review: I purchased two vehicles from this company and both are lemons. The inspection stickers cannot possibly be real with the amount of issues these vehicles have. The manager Barry swore up and down to us that both vehicles were great and had nothing wrong with them. Now neither car is working just a few weeks later on one car and a few months later on the other car. We originally had purchased a van for transporting our children in and it was so unsafe he gave us another car of LESS value than this van and that, after being "fixed" on Saturday is now sitting 60 miles away in a parking lot because it is not working. He does not seem willing to resolve any issues at all and wont even return our phone calls.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the purchase price of these vehicles. The price we paid for both was $7200.

Review: We purchased a Jeep Wrangler on November 20th 2015. While it was not inspected at the time, we assumed that your company would not sell such vehicles with known issues as your website states that "you pride yourself on selling quality cars as you pride yourself on your reputation". The jeep’s "check engine" light came on before we even made it home that same day it was sold it to us. While we hoped that there was nothing major wrong with the Jeep, that unfortunately was not the case. A car cannot pass inspection if the check engine light does not go out. There were so many things wrong with it that we have sunk over $1300 in to the vehicle that was sold to us - and the light STILL won't go out. Please note that all repairs were done at a reputable Jeep Dealer.

We were able to get the vehicle inspected - but only because we went to an auto parts store in between services and they reset the light. Right after it passed inspection it went back on. It will NOT pass inspection next time around as it doesn't seem to be repairable. If it IS, we will need to sink even more money into it until we figure out the problem.

We contacted the dealer (Barry R[redacted]) by phone - and had no response. We contacted him through their website correspondence - and requested for his response to be in writing. He refused. We sent one more email and asked for some type of resolution but again no response. We are VERY disappointed. Obviously Mr. R[redacted] sold us a vehicle that he KNEW had problems and it seems obvious that they cleared the service engine light right before they sold it to us uninspected, then wiped their hands of the issue.Desired Settlement: We want reimbursed for all costs to date, and would like for them to pay for remaining costs to ensure the check engine light finally goes out. This should have been taken care of well before they attempted to sell the vehicle to a consumer.

Review: Was interested in purchasing a vehicle from this business and put down a $300 deposit for the car. I called the owner and explained I wouldn't be able to go through with the purchase once I checked my upcoming bills. He did not tell me my deposit was non refundable. He told me that it was no problem and once my deposit hit his bank account in 2 to 3 days he would call me to discuss a refund. I have called the owner numerous times to follow up with him. I got him on the phone once and he rushed me off promising to call me back, he did not. Ive called for a week straight and other people have answered his phone claiming he wasn't available, my calls and messages have gone unanswered, and I just would like my money back.Desired Settlement: Refund
