Review: Company was contracted to do repairs. They were paid and work was never done.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund

Review: I contracted with Showcase remodeling to add a powder room to my condo in [redacted]. The contractors Alex & Charles from the get go misguided me on the complexity of the work, and have yet to complete the work. I have roof leakage, gas leakage, electricity issues and sewage issues due to the incompleteness of the work. All my efforts to get them to come back to fix issues created by them have failed and it has been over a month now. They have collected complete payment, but are yet to deliver a complete service and solution. This company & their employees are devoid of any professionalism, morals and ethics!! I am considering filing legal proceedings against them.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to complete all work and give me back my house in working condition at the earliest. I have a 5 month old son, and I cannot afford to subject him to the health hazards that this company is willing to put me under!!!

Review: Contractor Agreed to renovation job, full estimate balance $11,500 with a breakdown of (3) Payments $6,000.00 deposit, $4000 at 50% completion or 1 week, 1,500.00 balance paid at end of the job. The $6,000 was paid, and work was never started, no communication and no effort to remedy or resolve the problem. After August 30, we were not even able to communicate back, no workers, and no remedy provided. We have lost rent from the signed tenant moving into the apartment, and have no option but to temporarily place them in a $1500 per month apartment, as month to month, additional expense not accounted for in this project. Additionally, it is important to note that we have been in contact with other people who have also suffered the same loss, no work completed, by Showcase Remodeling (Alex A[redacted]), considering this is a repeat offense I have no choice but to believe it was purposely, and with malicious intent. On September 8, 2014, Showcase Remodeling called to collect $2,000 more in order to continue the work, which is absolutely not even a consideration at this point.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund $6,000 the initial 50% payment of the work, which was contingent on completion by August 30, 2014, $800 for (September 2014) as well as $1500 per month for temporary tenant placement until we can resolve this situation to reimburse the temporary placement cost per month ($8300).

At this time, per the contract agreement, Work was not done, wrong lights were purchased, they cut into the wall, and damaged my staircase railing. There was workers there for a few hours, they installed the framework for the sheet rock ceiling, but did not come back. We consider based on competitive contractor costs to be worth $500 (labor & material). However, due to not having the work completed by August 30, we have lost $800 rent for the month (tenant is being temporarily placed in a $1500 per month apartment, $50 per day equivalent). It is now the 8th, so we have already lost $800 (apartment rental income)+$1500 (temporary placement for tenants). We will settle at full deposit refund, loss in rent and reimbursement of the month, $8,300 and close this.

Review: This company was contracted by my husband and I to do a bathroom remodel in the basement, including flooring, drywall, mudding, installing shower, toilet and sink. The work was done improperly, took much longer than expected. The shower kit was installed improperly on the wall - installed on top instead of under the drywall. When we went out to buy tiles to use instead of the shower kit for the wall, they rushed to install the shower kit anyway while we were gone. The resulting shower kit doesn't fit properly, the door squeals because of the way it is installed, and the shower leaks constantly when in use. They used absolute loads of silicone caulk on everything - very messy and still didn't stop the leaking issue. The toilet wasn't installed properly - the water kept running due to the flush level being incorrect. The sink constantly leaked both water and sewer gas. Had to get another plumber in to fix it. The shower temperature was cold when the handle was turned to its hottest setting, and it was mounted crookedly on the shower! The quality of the mudding on the drywall also left much to be desired, but considering all of the other issues, that's a drop in the bucket! Have tried contacting multiple times, and no one has gotten back to me. I am not letting this slide.Desired Settlement: 1/2 refund for the job, which would be $900. $1800 was the total invoice.
