We have spoken with our accounting department they did inform that a new check was issued and sent out 5/23/2016. Check number is ***, Customer [redacted] should receive the refund check by next week take into consideration with a holiday coming up Monday but in fact the check in the amount of... $39.44 was sent out and should be received shortly.

We do not have the part to fix this unit for the customer which is why our next step was to offer a refund

After speaking with our claim department I was informed that this case is still pending an investigationEmails have been sent and also we have cc the customer regarding her case in those emails as wellI do apologize for the confusion on the last response that was our headquartersWe are working on getting a resolution for the customer being that the actually legal department is based in china it takes a little longer then usual to get a responseI will have our claims department contact the customer with any further information we can provide

I am rejecting this response because: As of June 2nd I have not received a check from Midea

Customer, ***, contacted us in June, stating that she had an issue with the unit that was bought around August of She wanted a refundCustomer explained that the unit caught fire on the side where mica plate is located1. She was notified that since
only mica plate burned, she can replace it and microwave should work fine againCustomer did not want to do so2. Our policy states that we provide one year warranty from the day of purchaseWhen we asked about the receipt, *** told us that she didn’t have one and was not able to provide any other proof of purchaseWithout the receipt, we cannot tell when microwave was bought; therefore we cannot proceed with full refund3. We then asked customer to provide a Serial Number in order for us to see when unit was manufactured and shipped outIf it was within the last year and six months, we could have provided her with partial refundCustomer was not able to provide it for us*** gave us the Date Code which was February Without the receipt this date indicates that unit is out of warranty and does not qualify for any refund4. Microwave model number that was mentioned as *** was a promotional unit for a limited time in *** in Without the receipt, this unit is out of warranty5. Customer did not have a fire department report from the date when unit caught fireWithout it, we cannot conclude the cause of the burning just from photos. We made several attempts to accommodate customer, but there is not enough information from her side for us to move further with the claim

Midea does not handle warranty with vaccum's but I have contacted the company and they advised me to pass along their phone number and they will assist youThe number is * *** *** ***
