Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: upon the return of the vehiclethe speedomoter and the entire instrument panel is not working.....I must admit that this was not a problem before "The Shreve Experience"......Each time the vehicle came back to me after returning it to Shrevethere was sometihing not working When installing a engine you must take things apart and put them back properly or things will not work properlyyou just dont replace a engine without taking other things apart.....They did not put the car back together ...some electrical was damaged in the process of uninstalling and then reinstalling the engine....Shereve refuses to accept their responsibility and offered me to take the vehicle to their friends shop st my own expense....they did not take in consideration that they have human technicians who may have not connected things right...after all no one else was under the hood of the vehicle.......wrong is just wrong....not fair to the customer....whent the wipers, side view mirrors, speed odometer not working ,,,engine light and brake lights on as well as smoke from the undercarriage of vehicle....I will check the fuses but can't think of any other reason for the total failure of the instrument panel
Sincerely,

Thank you for the opportunity to share our comments in this matter. It is our understanding that Mr*** has withdrawn his complaint to the Revdex.com.As a matter of record we will present our statement.Mr***, did purchase an engine from us and has been back several
times. While he has been back a few times it has not been for a recurring issue, but for simple performance questions he had. One issue was our responsibility and we corrected that under the terms of his warranty, the other times were, again, smaller issues that were not of our making and therefore not covered under his warranty but we corrected them in an effort to keep our customer happy. He did call us recently and mentioned that he had another issue; he made an appointment but did not show up to the appointment. If he is still experiencing difficulty with his engine he is welcome to call and make another appointment so that we can address the issue

We regret that Mr*** has experienced this level of frustrationOn occasion vehicle work takes longer that originally estimated,
and we apologize for any inconvenience our delay causedIn this case, our work took more time than anticipated because once work began, non-engine specific issues with the vehicle were discovered that had direct bearing on the performance of the engine, making it a necessity to address themOnce these issues were found, they were repaired at no cost to Mr***
Several of the issues that Mr*** was concerned about do not fall under the purview of engine performanceIe: the fuel line leak, and the water in the floorboard (a common issue for that make and model)Despite this, we did repair the leak at no cost to the customer, strictly for safety concerns
As mentioned in the complaint we also addressed two other issues, one of which was covered by the warranty; and one of which was engine damage caused by defective transmission partsIt should be noted that the transmission issue occurred fully a year and a half after the original engine installationAlso, the cost of $to Mr*** was a highly discounted rate; the true cost was well over $1,And as Mr*** noted the car was undrivable without the repair that was made at that time
The complementary fuel line repair had been made the week of May 3rd; so when we received the Revdex.com letter outlining his concerns we immediately called Mr***When our Service Manager spoke with Mr*** on May 13th Mr*** reported that his vehicle was in good driving condition and there were no issues we needed to address at this timeDuring that conversation our Service Manager reiterated that we would be happy to address any internal engine issues Mr*** finds

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Sincerely,

We are aware, however, of two issues with Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle that are not engine related. He does have a computer problem, that with his permission, we repaired with a temporary solution. He is aware that it needs to be addressed promptly by an appropriate contractor. He also mentioned a noise. While the vehicle was in our shop recently during our inspection we discovered and informed him that the noise is a transmission related issue that would also require addressing through another contactor.

We got the car back today and there are more things are wrong with it. The car is still smoking. We have loss of engine pressure, we have not been able to drive the car since April. It was a 6 cylinder engine and it was driving like it was a 2 cylinder. I believe the engine is no good anymore. I do...

Mr. [redacted] contracted Shreves Engines to replace his engine, which we did in July of 2015. In August 2015 Mr. [redacted] brought it to our attention that his transmission was leaking; this...

leak was not a result of our workmanship. Unfortunately we do not perform retail transmission work; despite this, as a courtesy, we corrected this issue at no charge to him. To our knowledge this issue has been resolved.

interim manager, has since inspected the vehicle and pinpointed the issue. Ms. [redacted]'s frustration is understandable, and a quick fix would certainly be preferable; unfortunately in order to fix the engine properly we will need to do extensive work that is time-consuming. She has been made aware that it will take 5 to 7 business days to complete this repair as it is very labor-intensive. We have worked out a schedule to Ms. [redacted]'s satisfaction. She had an appointment to bring the car in on September 2, as of this writing she has not dropped her car off, although anytime she would like to drop it off and leave it for the necessary 5 to 7 business days we are happy to complete the repair for her.

We regret that Mr. [redacted] did not have a satisfying experience with Shreves Engines.  Our records indicate that the engine repair has been made that was causing the engine to smoke and the vehicle has been returned to Mr. [redacted].In his complaint Mr. [redacted] did list several other issues he has with his vehicle; unfortunately all of the items listed are outside the area of our contracted care.  I have been informed by our technicians that there are several possible causes for the other issues Mr. [redacted] listed in his correspondence to the Revdex.com, none of which related to the engine or its performance.  At Mr. [redacted]'s last appointment he was given the name of a local shop that would be happy to help investigate those items. In the future, if any engine issues arise we are happy to investigate them within the confines of our warranty.  To our knowledge the engine that Mr. [redacted] purchased is currently in good working order.
