Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:If the measurements were so close (1/16")- why was it necessary to use so much force to lift the foundation? Please provide evidence via pier logs that demonstrate the pressure and capacity of the piers at the feet as referenced during initial installationPlease provide evidence that pier manufacturer procedures were followed during the installationI did not have tuckpointing completed as I questioned the initial installationOther metrics aside from mortar separation answer the question of whether or not receding had occurredI have pictures of mortar/brick separation before initial intervention in - visually, the gaps were as wide as when I recontacted Mr*** regarding warranty coverage in November 2017.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:One week has elapsed and A-Concrete Leveling and Repair has not provided the following documents supporting their claims of work quality and decision-making:Evidence via pier logs that demonstrate the pressure and capacity of the piers at the feet as referenced during initial installationEvidence that pier manufacturer procedures were followed during the installation

Attached informational documents that further explain the unique benefits of the AConcrete "Quad Pier" design from the testing company that details the install.? ? ? Every AQuad Pier install is done to exacting standards and with hundreds of piers installed by Afranchises across the country the complaints are few and generally relate to existing soil conditions or unknown design issues beyond installers control.? Pier installed with pressures exerted will generally exceed 35,lbs.? (x 2.5" hyd cyl radius ? X pi? X psi hydraulic) 49,exerted pier pressure POTENTIALHowever, as stated in attached informational sheet, installation is based on OPTIMAL and PRACTICAL recovery of the foundationAs consistently explained to Mr***, the fragile and thin wall of the concrete foundation "box" supporting the porch experienced cracking at attachment areas and installs in and in May / June of this year were curtailed at 35,lbs? to prevent further damage.? Thus regardless of pressures, depth of piers, when the subject foundation becomes compromised it has reached it's OPTIMAL and PRACTICAL recovery.? Should also warn that any further attempt to sink additional piers deeper or add further pressure may further compromise the thin walls of the structureMore information forthcoming as time allows.?

Will provide requested docs and photos of and ? Note, it has been our position that the gaps in mortar joints referenced by customer had no dimension and only documented gaps were provided by Aprior, in 2017, and during the attempt to further satisfy request of Mr***? To be clear, efforts were a good faith effort to accomplish further closure of gaps by EXCEEDING original pressure at the accepted risk of Mr*** that additional pier pressure may result in damage to the already compromised foundation? ? Additional pressure was applied over two weeks till the pier bracket pulled away from damaged foundation? Then said bracket & pier was abandoned and new pier was installed at corner where the bracket could be anchored into the deeper corner? Again, with excess pressure the anchor holes of foundation became compromised and additional epoxy repair was made to anchor the bracket for a third attempt to apply maximum pressure? ? ? Every effort was made to assure that the said foundation is documented to be on stable soil, will not recede, and as stated repeatedly, the subsequent gaps in mortar and rear of foundation are from trapped mortar / aggregate and will not, can not move any further regardless of who or how any further pressure is exerted on the foundation? ? We are regretfully sorry that Mr*** has exercised additional expense beyond the remedy suggested but have no reason to provide any compensation? Rather than simply stand by our original position that the gaps will not close any further and there was marginal movement if any, AConcrete Leveling assumed the benefit of doubt and agreed to attempt further effort to verify the stability of the foundation.? Will begin to assemble requested documents and signed affidavits from technicians as to procedures exercised to provide best possible effort to demonstrate our history of customer satisfaction.? Documentation to follow.? Respectfully,? *** *** ?

Will be calling & emailing Mr*** and attempt to re-establish his original decision to utilize our services in ? There are a few contractual points from that both parties may have been more responsible in completing? ? However, the issue as I interpret it from Mr
*** is that the front porch structure we supported with Apiers had recededThough there was no documentation as to the degree and all parties were aware that the completed project in could NOT be raised to an AS NEW condition due to trapped material, brick mortar entrapped at gaps, and customers direction to not excavate a center portion that could have limited the full restoration.? Also explained that with the questionable wall of the porch foundation and some cracking from the extreme forces of lifting(20,lbs) that further effort may result in failure of the foundation concrete? At that time it was advised and contained in original contract to have Mr*** secure a brick mason to properly tuckpoint and restore the brick to its best degree possible? Thus in December of that was acceptable and full payment was made by Mr***? ? Last fall I was contacted as to a potential warranty issue with project and to my surprise the advised tuckpointing of masonry was not completed.? Mr*** believed there to be additional movement and concerned it would keep settling? ? Note, the noted gap in masonry not dovetailed together in was approximately 1/of an inch? Measured gap at same location in fall of was 5/of an inch? ? Thus the issue is raising the foundation 1/16th of an inch perceived movement since with no documentation! ? Advised Mr*** that to avoid another winter project will begin work in good faith in spring although I stated there no evidence of foundation movementAll gaps, concrete repairs, epoxy patch work was ALL in place with no evidence of shifting until we acted to further raise the foundation? Admit the process required far more time than I anticipated and advised that in spite of competitive comments, further attempts to correct and raise foundation may jeopardize the foundations structure as cracking WAS experienced with the effort in 2015.? Advised Mr*** that we will keep applying lift in stages and ultimate cracking will need to be addressed? ? Foundation continued to crack and we reset a new pier with additional and lift forces exceeded 30,lbs until more cracking experienced? ? New pier is now at foot depth and again will state that there is no need to proceed with other competitive efforts that will surely compromise the foundation? ? To the issue of gaps in the masonry, the gaps are essentially the same 1/inch as they were in and based on years experience in commercial / residential construction the structure IS STABLE, has not moved and should have a masonry contractor complete the project as agreed in ? Thank you and will work to provide further documentation / affidavits from technicians on site? *** ***?
