Glen S[redacted] contacted Revdex.com regarding this case. This customer picked out the engine she had Shulls install from a shop out of state that said they had a warranty on it. The business only performed the labor install for the engine and can't warranty an item purchased from another business....

At this time the business will not be refunding this customer because the item was purchased from another shop against the recommendation of the business to get the part locally.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Glen S[redacted] was offered to settle out of court, the engine came with the warranty paperwork that he had 10 days to call in the warranty info. I do have texts to prove us speaking of this, as well as one witness that was there when I went to pick up the paperwork. I had also spoke to the engine company, and they said they ship no engine's without any paperwork, this company is called [redacted].... He bought the engine with my insurance check from [redacted]. He knew at that time that it came with a 3 year part & labor warranty. Due to him not calling this in when he received the engine at his shop is the reasoning for my request of a refund. I am will to settle out of court for as low as $3,500.00. He is aware of this, I have also said that I would be more than happy to speak to his insurance company, as all Garage's require to have " [redacted]." After doing some research, I have learned that he doesn't have a City license for his business, nor does he have insurance for his shop. I sent him the Demand letter on March 2nd, and I gave him 30 day's to give me a written response. He has done so, and if this can be resolved out of court, I would prefer that. If it isn't able to be resolved, then I guess I'll have to take him to court. Glen is aware the poor work he did to my Jeep, he is also aware that I had to take it to another shop to fix the valve cover he cracked while putting the engine in my jeep, as well as when he lied to me when handing me over my jeep, that the reason for the "Check engine Light " was on was due to O2 sensor that needed to be replaced. I got those replace, the engine still was miss firing, and the he said that the oil smell I can smell burning off the engine was what he spilt on my engine while putting on back in it. This cam to be not true, as it was the cracked valve cover that he messed up that another mechanic had to fix. My new mechanic is willing to say what work he had to do, to fix Glen's mess, Glen isn't known ( that I was told afterwards of my engine put in ) of being a great mechanic. I'm the first no the last i'm sure that will complain of his work. My jeep is still sitting on my property, and as she sits then more will probably go wrong, dry seal's wise and what not. Again, I am willing to settle to prevent court. I have had to block him from calling/texting me b/c of his use of cursing and what not. Please let me know what needs to happen next, as I do need my vehicle back up and running as soon as I can. I'm not even charging him what I'm being charged to have a rental car to use for these last few months, Glen also does purchase materials out of state and does warranty other work he does out of his shop, and I'm not shocked that he's lying about this to the Revdex.com as well, without even being insured, or having a licences for his business. Thank you, [redacted]
