I had issues in the beginning renting a unit with TCPEach time I went to view something, there was at least one irritated renter that had not been notified of a showingEach place that we were interested in got rented out to someone else even though our application was already approved or the tenant decided at the last minute to renewFinally we got a lease and were really happyAnd then we got a call DAYS before our move in and were told that our unit was not livable because of the storms that had damaged it over a month before(This phone call incidentally occurred on the Friday of July 4th weekend meaning that we could not get into contact with the company until Tuesday, days before our lease start date.) No one had told us that our potential living space had been harmed during the flooding, let alone under major constructionI was asked how flexible my move in date wasAnd was told that they would do everything that they could, but essentially I was out of luckOf course they protected themselves well in the lease and were not liable at allThey would not pay for a storage unit and would not give me a date as to when the units were expected to be doneWhen I asked why I had not been notified about the damage I was told that the renovation was supposed to have been done in timeI then asked why I was not notified when the contractors looks like they were getting behind, and the question was dodged and I was told that they had been working with lots of families as units had been floodedWe were within our rights to legally back out of the lease and did soBecause this company neglected to tell us that we did not have a place to live, I am homelessHad they told me a month ago that something was wrong, I could've planned to move somewhere else or make other arrangements until the property was readyI will NEVER do business with this company again and will NEVER recommend that anyone else do business with them either
