Review: Shure Line Electrical was the sub contractor on our Insight Home. They have made many electrical mistakes including faulty wiring in addition to the fact they forgot to install ground rods causing the whole house to be ungrounded. Kudos to MediaComm for discovering it after many calls for problems with internet and cable boxes. This caused many other electrical issues in the first six months as well as it could have burned the house down. If you are an electrician you know the concerns around ungrounded wires, when working you could get electrocuted. If you are unaware about electric do understand grounding 101 is probably taught on the first day of school.Desired Settlement: Shure Line Electrical, with Insights assistance, needs to replace all the appliances including a microwave, vacuum cleaner and tv we mysteriously have had break on us. Appliances can not take electrical surges like they were taking for the first six months. In addition, they need to hire an independent contractor to check over the house and purchase and extended warranty for all our appliances.

May 12, 2015 [redacted] We received your complain ID # [redacted] and take this very seriously. We take pride in our customer service. Without satisfied customers, we would not survive. We have completed research on the items displayed in the complaint for this particular project and have come to the following conclusions. · We were the sub-contractor for Insight Homes for the [redacted] residence located at [redacted] · The complaint states that we made many electrical mistakes, but only lists faulty wiring and grounding, with details about grounding, only. · We received a certificate of final inspection on 9/24/14 by an independent third party inspection agency First State Inspection Agency, Inc. · The electrical inspectors use a testing device to check for proper operation all devices and branch circuits, proper Arc-Fault Interruption and Ground-Fault Interruption. · If the circuit grounding conductors were “open”, the testing device notifies the inspector that the grounding is not connected. · We have documentation supporting the purchase of ground rods, acorn clamps and ground wire, on 7/31/14 from United Electric Supply Dagsboro DE invoice number [redacted] · We are a licensed contractor in Delaware T1-0005292 · We are a member of the Revdex.com · All of our employees have the proper licensing requirements of the State of Delaware. · All license holders are required to obtain continuing education to keep their licenses current. We take our jobs very seriously and are professional in all of our installations, as well as compliant with all state and local codes and inspections. We perform the electrical installations in approximately 350 single-family homes each year. With each home there is a process in which one must obtain inspections and approvals before proceeding to the next step, as all the prior steps have to be completed before moving to the next. The most important is a rough wire and service inspection by a third party agency. Without this inspection the utility company will not get the necessary approvals to proceed with energizing the electrical service for the home. The inspection agency looks for the bonding screw in the electrical panel, as well as the grounding wiring going to the ground rods, as well as the ground rods outside. They also inspect all aspects of the service installation to make sure it is install properly and code compliant with NEC 2011. It is only then that they will issue an approved sticker in the window of the home, and supply the power company with a “cut card” authorizing them to energize the service. We also responded to the residence on 4/28/15 and immediately installed new ground rods as needed in compliance for NEC 2011. We did not explore any further as the yard is finished and we did not want to destroy the finished finish grade. I have supporting documentation for this repair. We would like to opportunity to research the location of possible ground rods with a metal detector to see if they are actually present, this will not damage the finish grade. Should we locate them we would like to do exploratory digging to find the said ground rods. On other jobsites, we have had the copper ground wire stolen. We have also had ground rods and conductors disconnected/ damaged by landscaping and other contractors. We stand by our work, as sound in the quick response to repair the issue when we were informed.Thank you, [redacted]
