***, Talked to [redacted] and his wife [redacted] about the problem they were havingWe gave them another van to drive for a few days while an exterminator has time to eliminate the problemThey seemed very pleased for the action taken [redacted] Manager Dick Brooks Pre-OwnedLyman, SC

As the general sales manager I will use this as a training session to sure up areas of communication. We at Dick Brooks Honda try to do our best to properly price and communicate what we can and can’t do over the phoneUnfortunately in this case it sounds like we did not do a great job.
Our intent is to never to bring a client in with wrong motives on a price that we can’t or never intended to do. I wish that I could have been involved at the time of the problem and prevented itUnfortunately that car was sold. If *** *** would like to call me I would love to work with her personally. *** ***Dick Brooks Honda

Dear [redacted],
Yes,the tag was reported stolen, but to the DMV not the highway department as you have stated in your response. The tag is NOT out of date. We have received moving violations from multiple states where the vehicle using the tag [redacted] has been photographed with current tags dated 5-16. So your statement is not accurate. [redacted] you are not fully correct when you refer to this vehicle as violating a toll in New Jersey. There are multiple violations: 10/21/2011 parking fines in Hampton,VA,2/20/2011 running a red light in Newark, 10/5/2012 speeding in Washington, DC,10/7/2012 speeding in Washington,DC,10/13/2012 parking ticket in New York, 05/03/2015 toll violation in Maryland and 8/11/2015 toll violation. Now mind you each photo of the vehicle involved in the violations displays the insignia Dick Brooks on the trunk and the tag [redacted] and current tags corresponding to each year. Now lets address your statement that you have spoken with [redacted] Highway Department when indeed it was not you, but [redacted], who stated she spoke with the DMV in [redacted], but she was unable to get anywhere with the situation. It was I [redacted] , who spoke with [redacted] at the [redacted] DMV and was told the same thing as [redacted]. If this tag is dead as per [redacted] and in no way connected to us([redacted]) then why are all the moving violations being mailed to us? So there is obviously a connection to us. [redacted] states that he was told by SC highway department supervisor has told them this would not happen. That communication has never be offered to us. This our position, the vehicle in question came from Dick Brooks and the plate [redacted] was issued to Dick Brooks as I have the letter stating they were in possession of the plate. When we approached the dealership on the 8/11/15 violation we were told by the current title clerk that there was a note placed in the system at DMV that this was NOT a stolen plate. When the evidence clearly without a doubt shows that this is indeed a stolen plate and according to [redacted]Property Tax Supervisor for Greenville County, SC taxes have never been billed for a plate [redacted] so that for the last five years that this plate has been in use it has been illegally. We feel Dick Brooks knows full well who is using this plate as they were the ones that had possession of it. They meaning Dick Brooks need to report the license plate stolen to the sheriff department so that it can be placed in the central data system so when that plate is ran it comes up as stolen.

Dick Brooks Honda overnighted a check to pay the overdraft fee. Thanks,[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Regards,
[redacted]

It has never been our intent to be at odds with [redacted]  [redacted]. The statement that Dick Brooks knew fully well who has the tag, is not true.  If we did, this would have been resolved five years ago.  We have always done what we thought would help.  We have no reason not to.  I want this person caught as much as the [redacted].  They are my customer and I only want the best for them. This tag,  other than the day it was issued,  became invalid when we reported it stolen to the SCDMV.  It never has been renewed or taxed or a renewal validation sticker issued for it by the SCDMV.  Friday, 10/02/15,  after talking to the Sheriff’s Department, who could not help me, I visited with the [redacted] Police Department and we went thru our entire file, document by document.  The officer was of the opinion, that we could not prove the tag stolen, but would take the information to a supervisor.  I laid out as compelling of an argument as I could, that since it has not been an active tag and that it apparently is being used in violation of law and has been out of circulation as a valid tag for five years, that it is stolen.  This morning at 10:00, the officer from the [redacted] police Department came back to my office with their decision.  The [redacted] Police Dept has placed the tag in the national data base as a stolen tag.  If the tag has a 2016 valid date on it, it is a forgery or someone from the SCDMV is illegally supplying it.  However, this person will be caught eventually. If another state pulls up this tag number to issue a violation, it will show stolen, according to the officer. We were under the impression that when we reported the tag stolen, that we had done all that was necessary.  Obviously, we have learned that you can report a tag stolen to the police just as you do a car.  So we have accomplished all that we can do with the authorities. However,  I have requested Honda Motor Company to furnish me the names and vehicle ID numbers for all the 2010 Honda Civics that we sold in April and May of 2010 if they can.  If they do, I am going to have one of my employees to re-enter every vin number into Honda’s warranty system, to see if any service or repairs have been made to one of them in the area where the fraudulent tag is being used. If I am successful, I will get that name to the police.I regret all the frustration that this has caused for my customer, the [redacted] and my employees who have tried to deal with this.  Thank you,[redacted] GM
