Our position still stands and its very unfortunate that a consumer would take this approch to resolve an issue. There are discrepencies in the statements made against our company. We have apologized for the unprofessionalizm in a heated moment.

Avoid this shutter company!

I should have checked the Revdex.com review before I ordered my shutter. I order the shutter and the drapes through another company (Frieda Ross Drapery, which is also bad in products and services), which outsourced the shutters to Shutter Crafters.

Took Shutter Crafters three trips (and 2 months) to measure the 4 windows, install the shutters. The shutters look cheap and bad quality.

Do NOT use this company.

At NO time we were advised that the color we were asking to have matched was a custom color.  We clearly told [redacted] to match the existing blind color which [redacted] validated they had on file as a reference.  When the blinds wereinstalled I mentioned to the installer the color didn't match.  He said "Oh well!"  (see photos of mismatched color) I called the next morning, not days later and let [redacted] know it wasn't a match and sent her accompanying photos.  She agreed it didn’t match and told us they had 'issues' with [redacted] prior on not being attentive to things like this and promised me it 'covered in their guarantee".  The discount given was offered by [redacted] and [redacted]. All companies offer this.  If this was a 'custom color' why did they acknowledge they had the original order and that is was a stock color.  ALL shutters in our home are the EXACT same color.  [redacted] told us [redacted] made a mistake and used white vs the color shown on our original shutters. When [redacted] showed up one hour early my husband and I were in the shower.  We had to stop showering and I had to go meet with [redacted] w/a towel wrapped around my head.  I pointed out to [redacted] the embarrassment this caused me and she rudely responded with "well you could have turned him away."  We were trying to accommodate them and felt a professional thing to do was to have called to let us know they were planning on being early.  Most vendors working with us do so.  Additionally, [redacted] was quite rude during his visit and presented himself in a very unprofessional manner.  He took down one of the existing shutters and did validate the color on them was NOT the color they painted the shutters theyinstalled.  When he looked at the nook shutter, he said he wanted to make up an offer as he was afraid taking the shutter off would cause damage and he didn’t plan to fix it.  I asked him what his solution was and he said he would match the shutters to the rest of the home.  We showed him the color and he said “oh no problem, we have that color.”  At NO TIME was there any discussion of a ‘cus[redacted] color’ etc.  This is pure fabrication on the part of thiscompany. My husband, a retired policeman of 40 years, said he was amazed at how hostile, unprofessional and rude [redacted] was from the get go.  This view from someone who’s spent years dealing with the worst society offers. When [redacted] took the shutters off the doors he left a huge mess on our carpet (photos available) and stormed out of the house without even a ‘goodbye’ much less advising us what next steps would be.I tried to speak to [redacted] via phone – however she got mad and hung up – twice.  Not the behavior of  a rational, honest business person. It was childish and highly unprofessional. Each time she called back, apologetic. The cost of the nook shutter was $600+.  We feel we are being more than fair in this  by allowing them to option of not painting it the color [redacted] agreed to.  We are asking for $200 as repayment for goods not delivered in full.  In reviewing records for Shutter Crafters with a variety of public records (examples attached), it’s CLEAR this type of unfortunate, inappropriate and fraudulent behavior is repeated on a regular basis.  When I mentioned I would be filing complaints, [redacted] scoffed and said she dealt with these all the time and knew how to take care of things like complaints. We are awaiting a $200 credit from this company and look to the Revdex.com to help ensure consumers are not bullied like this and in fact, get  what they pay for.  Its unfortunate that people who run businesses like this know all to well how to skirt the law and continue to evade doing what's right.  They give reputable business a bad name.  We feel we are being VERY fair in not insisting they fix the nook blinds.

While the pricing seems reasonable, beware of customer service and follow up. Our sales contact was horrible at communication! Our solar roll down shades had an expected 6-8 week lead time from December. It's now March and no one can give me an answer as to where they are, when they were ordered or when they might be installed. My phone calls and emails aren't being returned and they have had my deposit for this product since December. Very unprofessional and embarrassing way to operate a business. As an interior designer, I would never recommend them.

I just want to let future customers know our experience with this company was excellent. They gave us a fair quote, delivered a quality product, and did an excellent job installing the shutters for us. After reading the one review I was a little concerned but our experience was very good. Work was done Feb., 2016

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Hello,
Thank you for following up. I did send out a written...

response  within 24hrs of receiving it. We did some repairs for the customer last week. If you follow up with the customer she will advise you that we went out to do the repairs. She was in a hurry because the house was going on the market. We have a 3-4 week wait for repairs and it was longer over the holidays. I did apologize for the wait but we did finish the repairs she requested.
Thank You,

Office Manager

To Whom It May Concern,
This letter is a response to the customer complaint we received in our office today. Our customer is unhappy about a decision that was made. Our customer did explain that she wasn’t the previous owner...

of the shutters but she wanted to match the color on the previous owners order.  I scheduled a free in home estimate on 12/26/2014. When our sales rep went to the house our customer advised the same thing; that she would like to match the color of her existing shutters. Unfortunately, when the contract came in as an order the contract stated white. On 3/10/2014 we installed the shutters with our customer present and she also signed off on the installation stating it was complete/correct. A few days after installation [redacted] called in stating the shutters were wrong color. So I scheduled an appointment for a manager to go out and meet with customer at home to make a decision on what needs to be done. He was scolded upon arrival for showing up to this appointment early. He determined that we could repaint the shutters to match the existing shutters at no charge but at the time the customer decided she wanted to match the color on the door that the shutters where hung on. The color on the door was NOT the previous color she’s been requesting, it was actually a custom color which we charge $200 a job to match. We agreed to custom match the color at no charge if they agreed to keep the nook shutter as is. [redacted] was beside herself about this but agreed with the manager to go ahead and take care of it. We pulled down the shutters, brought them to our shop and fixed them. We then took them back out to install them on 3/19/2014. [redacted] did ask via email for a discount of $200 but given the work we put into this and the agreement that was made in home with our customer we will not honor an additional discount. She was also given a previous customer discount at $271 which is 20% off when she in fact is NOT the original purchaser of the existing shutters in her home which would void any previous customer discount. We also matched a custom color at no additional cost. So [redacted] received a total discount of $471.00.  As we do our best to provide excellent customer service we are not perfect but we do address every situation with care.
