Shy Beaver Boat Center Reviews (1)

Review: After [redacted] denied my boat trailer warranty claim because the boat and trailer was exposed to saltwater, I then sent the following letter to the owners of Shy Beaver Boat Center several months ago but they have not had the courtesy to respond to my the letter. In May 2012, I purchased a leftover (new) 2011 Stingray 195 from Shy Beaver Boat Centers Salesman [redacted]. Although I encountered several issues initially (which some but not all were resolved over time), I still have one major issue lingering that Im hoping you will help resolve. This is my first boat purchase so I asked [redacted] many, many questions and overall he was very helpful. One thing I specifically asked [redacted] was whether I could use this boat/trailer in saltwater knowing I would be boating one week a year in the bay at [redacted], **. [redacted] confirmed without hesitation that I could do so.At the end of the 2012 boating season, I had Dan (Service Manager) coordinate the winterization, shrink wrapping and storage of my boat for the winter. There were a couple of warranty issues that were eventually repaired prior to my pick-up in the spring but one issue that remains outstanding is the [redacted] trailer rust. [redacted] would not repair under warranty because the trailer was exposed to salt water although only a couple of times. [redacted] should have told me that this trailer could not be exposed to salt water because had he implied or expressed that, I would have never purchased the boat (or purchased it with that particular trailer), so in haste to "make a sell" didn't state that to me. So, now I have a beautiful boat with an [redacted] trailer that has significant rust on it and Im asking what you guys can do, or willing to do, for me under the circumstances? The boat has been at your facility for 2 weeks now waiting for winterization, so please take a look at it and give me a courtesy call and let me know your thoughts.Thank you!Respectfully,[redacted]###-###-####Desired Settlement: The trailer should be replaced with a trailer that fits the boat and can be exposed to saltwater.
