Review: My husband, [redacted] and I hired Igor S[redacted] of SI Decker, Inc from Staten Island to start work on May *, 2015 to put down pavers in our backyard. We paid total of USD9000. USD1200 by check as first deposit. Rest of funds were paid by cash in installments. Every time, Mr.S[redacted] took cash, he signed off on the agreement.

Mr.S[redacted]'s workers put down the pavers at an incorrect angle in our backyard and when it rained, the water did not go into the designated drain but collected on top of our pavers and drowned them. The water had to be pushed manually into the drain. For weeks we were trying to reach Mr. S[redacted] to fix the pavers. On June *, 2015 Mr.S[redacted] sent his workers to pick up our stones, remove concrete, and put an additional drain. Left work unfinished. On June **, 2015, his workers came to put the pavers down. Pavers were not properly put down, 4 stones were broken and therefore, not locked permanently. For days, we have been trying to arrange Mr. S[redacted] to bring new stones, lock the pavers and FINALLY finish the job. On June **, 2015, he came to measure the stones he needs to bring. He did not know that the guys he sent broke some of the pavers. On June **, he told me personally, I will come tomorrow or after tomorrow and we will replace the pavers that have been improperly cut, and broken and lock the pavers. I explained that we really need to finish this job. Today is June **, 2015. The job is still not done. Some of the pavers are unlocked and during rain cannot be stepped on due to hazardous conditions. Mr.S[redacted] continues to ignore us, refuses to finish the work on time and has caused our family stress beyond words. The last payment has been given to Mr.S[redacted] was on May **, 2015. On June **, 2015 the work is still not done. The pavers have been put down by Mr.S[redacted]'s workers. The work that has been done is not to professional standards. I feel that Mr.S[redacted] continues to play with us and refuses to finish the job on purpose. The pavers were cut down not properly. Mr.S[redacted] never knew how to put down pavers, but brought his workers to our house on a daily basis and left them here for hours to finish work that he got paid for. The workers did not have any guidance, supervision or assistance from Mr.S[redacted]. Mr.S[redacted] has no knowledge of how to put down pavers. This is beyond devastating for my husband and I, as this is our first house as a married couple and we work extremely hard for our money. We were very excited to build up our backyard and put down beautiful pavers. Unfortunately, by hiring Mr.S[redacted] to do that job, took all excitement and happiness out of us, and turned into pure nightmare. On a daily basis, we have to track down Mr.S[redacted] on a and beg him to finish the job. The work has been done in pieces as Mr.S[redacted] continues to say that he has other jobs waiting for him. ,Desired Settlement: We have paid Mr. S[redacted] USD9,000, the price we agreed on to put down the pavers. Rest of the job on the agreement (installing door, removing window) was not done, as we advised Mr.S[redacted] that he will not be doing that, due to the poor job he has done on our pavers. Therefore, this complaint is strictly for the pavers that have been put down in our backyard.

It has been almost 2 months that we have been dealing with Mr.S[redacted] and The emotional damage/stress he has caused my family and I is beyond repair. The stress he has caused by his unprofessionalism and unwillingness to finish work cannot be dealt with simply. Almost 2 months later, and we still cannot get Mr.S[redacted] to finish our backyard and the job we hired him to do, that unfortunately, he was never fit to perform, and we have paid him the agreed amount in FULL. Yet, the job is not done. The first time, pavers were put down, was done incorrectly. We gave Mr.S[redacted] another chance to fix the pavers and place them at different angle, add additional drain. Second time around, the stones that were raised and now placed down, have been put down in a worse way than they were originally placed. Mr.S[redacted] and his workers ruined our pavers that we have worked so hard to save USD3800 to purchase them.

I would like for Mr.S[redacted] to pay my family and I USD22,778.

USD9,000 should be returned for the job that has been done in an extremely poor and unprofessional way.

USD3,778 should be paid to us equates to the amount we paid for our Pavers purchased separately, not through Mr.S[redacted].

And USD10,000 should be paid for all the immeasurable stress he has caused my family by refusing to finish the job, by doing the initial work incorrectly, where all pavers were under water during rain because they were placed at an incorrect level. For my husband and I trying to track him on a daily basis and not being able to have him commit to us day and time to come and fix the pavers, when we both have full time jobs and all we want is to live our life peacefully. And for more aggravation and continued emotional stress that Mr.S[redacted] has put upon us for not being able to finish the job, that he should have never taken upon himself. Mr.S[redacted] never knew how to put down pavers, but brought his workers to our house on a daily basis to do it.
