Complaint[redacted]I recently went online in search of a Rottie puppy in Massachusetts and was forwarded to a breeder called Countryside Rotties owner [redacted] of Hubbardston, MA.He was the one I spoke to and emailed back and forth with in the beginning stages. After making our purchase in September 2013 I noticed all the paperwork was titled with Windswept/Sidehill Rottweilers 55 Old Boston Turnpike Hubbardston MA and the deal ([redacted]) was sealed by his [redacted]. [redacted] was nowhere to be found that day of pick up. Shortly after in October my puppy was diagnosed with entropion of her eye and I was told this was genetic most likely from her Mom being bred too many times. When I inquired with [redacted] if this was so, they both denied it. [redacted] mentioned in an email that [redacted] would help cover the cost of surgery, but when she left me a message after attempting to contact her a number of times she said she would under no circumstances pay for surgery. I fulfilled my contract and sent her all of my puppies vaccinations and she has not given me any of my puppies official papers as of today. Just recently, my puppy has had a case of ringworm, Giardia caused by a parasite that was passed [redacted] from the mother (according to my vet) and just this week was diagnosed with Laryngeal Paralysis which will require surgery. [redacted]s buy puppy's from so called breeders and sell multiple breeds of dogs, and do not have contracts and stand behind their dogs. I do a 4 page contract which was written by an attorney and stand behind my contract.As far as website is named Countryside Rotties and my [redacted] manages the website and sets appointments. I actually own all the dogs at this time and do all contracts for puppies my kennel name is and has been Windswept/Side Hill for 36 yearsWhen [redacted] and [redacted] first came out to see puppies when they were 3-4 weeks old and gave a deposit they actually met with me and spent an hour or so visiting and playing with pups she then gave a $300 dollar deposit when they picked puppy up at 8 wks old [redacted] was given contract to read and sign at that time she sat and did in fact read the contract in full before signing contract I gave her a copy and kept the original which I am forwarding to you .I did address the first complaint regarding entropia and explained there was no history of it in my lines and that she bought a pet not breed quality. Entropia is a genetic problem not from a dog being bred too many times it is in the bloodlines they have never produced any vet reports to this date . and as far as ringworm all puppys can and usually do have worms all my puppies get wormed 2 times before leaving but I always tell new owner to have them checked by vet because they sometimes need to be wormed again. Giardia is from stagnant water not passed [redacted] mother people can also get itOn 1/2/14 about 5:54 pm [redacted] called me regarding Harley informing me she was sick and and asking for any information regarding other pups and parents of litter. I did explain at that time that one other puppy from that litter had a rare disease that I had never heard of I was still waiting on vet reports from the owner and was replacing puppy. I told [redacted] I would get info and call him back In a couple of days when I could get a hold of them. On 1/3/14 at 7:22pm I received a text from [redacted] looking for info on 1/4/14 I called and spoke to [redacted] on my way home from work with info regarding Laryngeal Paralysis and unfortunately there is no cure and the vets recommendation would be euthanasia. I left that up [redacted] and [redacted] never once asking for puppy back and offered a replacement puppy when, ever they were ready for one when I have a litter as per my contract which states no money back and buyer is responsible for all vet cost. I have left several messages on both [redacted]'s Cell and [redacted]'s to inquire regarding Harley and replacement puppy, after several messages [redacted] finally left a message for me to call him I have since tried 4 times with no response.As far as conditions I have had inspections every year with Town dog officer and building inspector also board of health and never had any issues and [redacted] even commented upon how good the puppies looked and how clean my kennels were when she came to see puppies.if you have any questions feel free to email me at [redacted] or call the best # is my cell (XXX)XXX-XXXXThank you, [redacted]Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)After much serious consideration we do not want another puppy from you both.
