I had a residential driveway poured in May of and was very satisfied with Sieben Cement Contractors
I had four companies provide estimates and not only was Sieben's the lowest (by a slim margin), Darrell was the only one who instantly knew what had to be done to address a serious drainage problem with just a quick look Others appeared reluctant to deal with itMy garage would flood every spring and during major rain storms due to sloping issues He suggested and then built a drainage channel which piped the water down the side of the garage when it could drain away He also went the extra mile by sourcing out grates for the drain
The finished product looks good, the attention to detail was excellent and the work was done within the estimated time frameAll for a fair price

On March 17, *** *** who works with *** *** the business owner, came to see meHe agreed that the sidewalks looked bad in some spo*** He said they would consider me a priority and would schedule me in for the start of the seasonThe same day he brought a "consultant", but did not talk to meDuring a telephone conversation with *** *** about a week later I was told that *** *** and *** *** from *** *** *** had both looked at my sidewalks*** *** *** was the company who supplied the concrete for my job
*** *** the business owner came to my house on April 11, He agreed with me that the concrete looked worse than it did the previous springHe told me that two Engineers had looked at my sidewalks and said that salt had been applied; however I was told not to apply salt as it might affect the concrete and therefore I did not put salt on the walks
Mr*** said *** *** *** would supply the concrete but he would replace the front walk onlyThere is a section in my back yard near the deck which is as bad as or worse than the front walk but he refuses to replace this sectionThe owner of the landscaping company who did my yard told me the walk was low in that section and the water would not drain awayThe drive pad behind the garage in the back alley is showing the same signs of deterioration
I am not satisfied with his solution to rectify the problem as all the walks are obviously deteriorating more each year and the sections he won't replace will continue to deteriorateIf he can guarantee the drive pad behind the garage in the back alley won't get any worse, I am willing to leave it as is, but I want the section in the back yard replaced as well as the front walkFurthermore, I expect the job to be completed within a reasonable amount of time after it is started for safety reasons and to minimize our inconvenience; because Mr*** suggested he could remove sections of the sidewalk one week and return at a later date, at his convenience, to replace these sections
If necessary I can provide photographs of the deteriorating sidewalks

As discussed, the contractor has replaced the sections of sidewalk that were agreed to, and although the work has been completed, I am obliged to inform you that the work done was less than professional
The contractor assured me, before he did the work, that I "would not even know they had been there", telling me that they would only cut back a few inches of sod so they could form the new sidewalk and fill in the void with garden soilInstead, his crew peeled the sod back about six to eight inches and folded it back on itselfThis might have been acceptable had they returned to strip the forms and replace the sod a day or two after placing the new concreteUnfortunately they returned ten days later, essentially killing twelve to sixteen inches of the new sod as it was not getting sun or water
As well, I was told that a foam strip would be reinstalled at the front step to act as an expansion jointThe first time the sidewalks were placed, I was told this was an important step in the process as this would prevent the sidewalk from moving the step, should it heave from frostThe crew forgot to install the new foam strip, and the contractor then told me this was not important and not to worry
The wrong edging tool was used where the new section joins the old section, leaving a noticeably unprofessional appearance to the walkAs well there were several big chunks broken out of the original walk, and these were very poorly repaired
