I currently rent a unit at *** and was experiencing issues with the dryer After getting the dryer diagnosed, I was told that the vent needed to be cleaned by the Strata and to immediately stop using the dryer as all the lent build up could cause a fire This was weeks ago My landlord and I have been trying to speak to someone at Siegle Properties as they this company manages the company but have been unsuccessful I have not been able to do my laundry for close to a month and decided to see if I reach out to someone who has the ability to assist I was able to get a response from one of the woman who work at the office, they told me that they are currently fixing the roof and they need to complete this work before they would even consider cleaning my vent Obviously this is not close to even being acceptable as the work involved to fix the roof could take months! I asked to speak to someone who was responsible in making that call, then was told to call Edward *** seeing as he was the Strata Manager
Edward by for has been the worst individual I have ever had to deal with in regards to asking for assistance He was extremely rude and seemed very annoyed with my request He told me that since I am not a owner but a tenant, he was no 'contractual obligation' to help me He kept repeating it over and over on the phone, speaking over my inquiry or plead for assistance "I HAVE NO CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATION TO YOU" Not only was I shocked that such a person could be so rude especially seeing as he was suppose to be in a customer service type of role but his attitude was beyond surprising to meI cannot believe people like this feel that it is acceptable to disrespect other people He kept refusing to converse with me respectfully and when I asked him why he thought it was okay to be rude to me, he told me "well you are being rude to me!" I told him I was frustrated and hoping that he could help me with my problem because I do not know where to go from here I understand how he may not 'owe' me the opportunity to schedule a cleaning without speaking to the landlord first HOWEVER you would think just having the ability to be respectful towards another person is just the right thing to do I would expect him to give me some options on what I can do or even tell me that he can get back to me or hopefully we can find a solution I understand that before anything is confirmed that he would need to get the okay from the landlord Which is fair enough however he decided to continue to cut me off and just refused to care about my situation I had to remind him that my landlord had already inquired but isn't getting any response from their office hence why I decided to step up as I am the one who is being negatively impacted I have not been able to do my laundry for over weeks and feel that I have been more than patient but this is something that needs to be addressed ASAP
I own two condos myself and have worked with property management offices in the past I also have tenants that deal with the property management office when required I understand the process and obligations Due to this negative experience, Siegle Properties is by far one of the worst management companies I have ever dealt with I cannot believe Edward has a job as a Strata Manager considering that he simply does not understand the concept of respect or customer service He couldn't even make any suggestions how to go about to solve my issue He sounded annoyed and I was a bit shocked that he thinks his behavior is acceptable
