Sierra Carpet Cleaning

Review: I received a "cold call" the first week in June offering carpet cleaning by

a company called Sierra Carpet Cleaners for $99. They stated that they had been in business for 26 years and to leave my number if I was interested

Unfortunately, I did!

The company -female voice- called back a couple of days later and a date was set up and the price came to $119.00 for the traffic areas I wanted cleaned: Front room, dining room, office, bed-room, all pathways only.

I was given a phone number ###-###-#### to call if I had to change the time

of the appointment.( This is [redacted]'s cell number.)

The carpet cleaner [redacted] ([redacted] or [redacted] this last name showed up on my handset when he called my phone). He told me that he needed to "pre-treat"

the dining room pathway to the kitchen and a small area in the office where I sit at the computer. The price ended up as $217.40

The end results: The carpets, especially in the dining room were so wet that it took 4 days of blazing hot weather with doors and windows open for me to be able to walk across the rugs without getting my socks soaked. The carpet in the office area had a stain that looked like someone had spilled rusty water or root beer on it. The dining room had dark stains across the walkways where he had sprayed with the pre-treatment stuff, but nothing like the bad stain in the office. I called him back to report the problems and he did return promising not to make the carpets wet again but just to soak up the dampness and to remove the stains. Nothing improved. I called him again and he said he would make arrangements to come back between jobs because he was not always in this area. I also complained that I did not have an office number to call and he gave me one telling me that he didn't realize the paper work he gave me had an old number. I have called the number he gave me many times leaving messages about my rugs and have never been responded to.

He wanted to be paid by check, no credit card. I have checked with my bank [redacted] where he had cashed the check immediately after I gave it to him, but I could not get any help in finding a business address.

The last time [redacted] was here I went out to check his license plate: Illinois plate:[redacted].

Last week I called in another carpet cleaning company to see what can be done for my carpet.

The carpet is badly damaged: too much heat from the steam which cooked the fibers in the office, and the brown stain is not coming out. The dining room carpet is damaged from a plastic rake, something that should never have been used on my expensive (duly noted by the new carpet cleaners) dining room carpet. And there was too much heat and water used.

I will have to replace the dining room carpet and the office carpet.

This is the only information that I have been able to find about Sierra Carpet Cleaning: [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like to have the dining room carpet replaced.

Review: Price was way more than originally quoted. Very unhappy with the service and professionalism of the company and agent. [redacted] was the tech who came out. After making 4 complaint calls to the company finally received a call from tech who agreed to come out 9 days later (Monday or Tuesday) never received a call from the tech. I called tech Tuesday evening who agreed to come on Wednesday. Called tech late on Wednesday he said he didn't have time. The company's phone number on the invoice ###-###-#### is no good. The company doesn't comply with the guarantee on the invoice.Desired Settlement: I would like another tech to come out and do the job right or refund
