Review: Was never informed of service call fee. He was here 5 minutes and sprayed lubricant, then charged $95.

Jeff was at my residence on 12/19/2013 to fix a door, but the "service call" fee was never explained to me. He was here a total of no more than 5 minutes and charged $95 which is exorbitant to spray some oil on my door rollers. I feel like I have been scammed.Desired Settlement: I would pay $10.....not $95

Mr. [redacted] called us with an issue with a door not opening, our technician [redacted] not [redacted] checked the spring balance on both doors, lubricated both doors, and then adjusted the sensitivity on the garage door opener. The service would have to have been 30 minutes at least. Our service rates are competitive and we benchmark against competition. We are at times even considered below market rate. We called Mr. [redacted] the day of service to address his concerns and work through the matter and explain our service call. We have not heard back. Sierra Garage Door Service works hard to build a reputation as honest and fair and we feel this is what sets us apart from other companies.

The company needs to disclose the service fee before performing the service. A work order / estimate should be signed by the customer so that the customer knows what they are suppossed to pay. This is how most professional businesses operate.

A customer friendly business would give hints/tips to a problem solution as simple as this instead of handling it the way Sierra did.

I do not approve of their tactics at all. Very short-term thinking instead of trying to secure a long-term customer relationship.
