Sierra Mobile RV Reviews (%countItem)

We left RV motorhome in consignment in their business. It was in good condition and running. It had been there several months. On the day it was going to be driven for an interested buyer, we were called and informed it had blown a gasket.
One of their employees told me that they were having a problem getting it to drive. They never called to let me know, I believe that they were negligent, they should have stopped and called me. They got someone to check it and the estimated amount to get repaired was about $3000/$4000. We decided to get it towed to our home and later noticed missing items in the RV. When we called to let them know, the owner stated they were not responsible for what happened or any of the missing items. Now we have damaged RV parked at home with missing items inside. We never expected these to happen. We left our Motorhome in good condition and running in their care.

Correct that customer had their unit on consignment with out facility. It was a *** with 22k miles on it. This particular unit we never took for a test drive when customers dropped it off, taking the customers word on it that everything was up to par & had been properly serviced/maintained as far as the engine goes with oil changes, etc, because we do not work on engines at our place, which customer was fully aware of. - Long story short, we finally got an offer on the motor home, & once the buyer was serious we made arrangements for a technician to go along for a test drive, which the consignee was fully aware of before we did so. The day of test drive we started engine, & transported it to the opposite side of the facility.. When customers arrived to test drive, we put the unit in drive & nothing happened. Unit did not want to move & there was a load of black smoke coming from the tailpipe. We again are not engine techs, so we outsourced a reputable company that stated the unit had a cracked head gasket that was located in an area where engine would have to be pulled out to see. - A blown head gasket can be caused by multiple reasons, none of which would be related to our company in any form or fashion. This could have been a long standing issue that finally surfaced... either way it goes, there is nothing we did to this unit that would be able to cause this failure. Also, when customers came to pick up unit, they call us a month later stating that they were missing a couple of refrigerator door shelves... and asked if we had them. There is absolutely no reason we would need to take these out of this old unit, nor could anyone steal them without us seeing as they are much too big to fit in your pocket. So, of course my answer was no. Also a couple of days later, customer calls again to claim that a 30/15 adapter was missing, a $17 item, something I carry in stock on my shelves all day long, & have no need to take nor use theirs. We do have a written and posted policy; that all loose items left in R.V.'s we are not responsible for, also a disclosure agreement that they too signed, acknowledging we are not responsible for theft, nor circumstances/forces that are beyond our control. We did our best to sell this unit, even with the prior older condition this motor home was in, but consignees wanted to blame someone for their lack of maintenance on their own unit prior to bringing to our place. - I do not wish ill will against these people who obviously have had a run of bad luck, but I also do not appreciate being blamed for circumstances not caused by our business.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Regards,

I want to say that the motorhome was driven by a representative of the company from *** and there were no issues with the motorhome. The motorhome was in great shape and some of the people that did get to see it commented on how clean it was. We are not people that do not take care of our things. We left it in their care and we expected it to be returned in the same condition. If they noticed that something was wrong they should have informed us immediately. A blown gasket does not happen very often on motorhomes especially one that has 24 thousand miles. I was told that one of the workers was driving the motorhome not the buyer. I believe that they were negligent and just because we signed the contract does not mean that they can get away with damaging other peoples property. We turned the motorhome over to them in good faith and we expected them to take care of it in the same way. Just imagine if you left your car to get a service and they told you had a blown engine and then they said sorry we are not responsible for your car. Sierra RV repair needs to take responsibility for what happened. If you get paid if you sell then you also need to make sure that what people leave in consignment needs to be taken care of. They need to stop blaming me and except that they had the motorhome on their property and they took possession of it and thus they were responsible for whatever happen to my motorhome. I want to say that as far as the missing refrigerator shelfs, electrical connector, and fire extinguisher they were in the coach. Their response to me when I brought it to their attention is if I could prove that they were their. Again it is all a matter of trusting them to take care of our things. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that we were going to have these problems. It was not bad luck it was a failure to take care of things that they took possession of. These items were in the coach and I noticed them missing after we had a chance to process what had happened to our motorhome. We had it towed and then I was upset so I did not check anything at that time. After a couple of days I decided to connect it so the batteries could get charged. I then noticed that all of the adapters were missing and then I checked the inside and found that the refrigerator shelves were missing along with the fire extinguisher. We are people of faith and would not accuse others of wrong doing. Their response made it harder to take. All they had as a response to my questions was if I could prove it was in the coach. I told them that they were and that I had left it in their care. I was disappointed with their unwillingness to make anything right. I will never recommend them or their business to anyone. If they had acted in a responsible way I don't think we would be having this conversation. God bless them and all I ask is that they acknowledge that should have taken care of our motorhome as if it belong to them. This is how I live my life.
