Upon using this 5th wheel after purchase we found a lot of features to not be efficient or work at all. Their response was our fault for buying it One must live in a n rv to see if all the features work. It constantly needs repair and it's brand new! The main thing is the air conditioner doesn't cool off the unit making it miserable to camp in and that's why you have one. Everything is so cheap and poorly made it already looks like it won't hold up. We bought this to travel in when we retire soon.Don't see that being an option now and the attitude of the customer service stinks. We are sick about this purchase of an inferior product.Desired SettlementEither repair a long list of things , which would be impossible, or refund a reasonable amount of $$ so we can go elsewhere and buy a quality unit where people care about their reputation and the reputation of the product they are sellingBusiness Response We sold 2014 Montana Mountaineer Model 343RL to customer on 4-5-2014. We offer a large variety of various floorplans and price points. The customer had viewed this unit more than once and decided that it fit their needs. Customer took delivery with orientation on 4-17-2014. Customer brough unit in on 5-23-2014 with a frayed slide out cable. This was Memorial Day weekend. We immediately ordered cable, overnighted freight and had the unit back to the customer on 5-28-2014. On 7-9-2014, customer called our Service Manager to complain about various issues. Our General Sales Manager called to ask what could be done to help and customer identified various items for complaint. When asked if our Service Department had been given the opportunity to fix said items, the customer said they could not bring the unit in. They stated that there were too many items to fix. The customer identified an air conditioning problem, cabinet handles and loose ceiling lights. These are all very fixable issues. Then the customer started to complain about the storage, lighting and quality items. Our Sales Manager simply stated that some of those issues are the consumers decision. As stated, we offer a variety of floorplans and various price points with different levels of amenities. We would welcome the opportunity to fix warrantable items identified by the customer.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Obviously until you actually "live" in a 5th wheel the things you "saw" on the lot come into play. If they "look good" but don't function properly there is a problem. There are a lot of features that "look" nice, but fall apart during use or, as with the air conditioner,don't begin to work efficiently and you suffer with the heat. We already missed a slotted vacation time for 2 weeks while they repair the cheaply made cable for the slide. To take more time off work or give up a weekend to bring the unit in is a huge inconvenience. One of your own reviews shows they went to another customer's home to do repairs.Final Business Response In response to the customer's rebuttal dated 07/16/2014: When Sierra RV was notified of the cable issue, the customer was given a next day appointment, followed by an over-night shipping of parts and priority in our shop. The total time was 5 days to correct the problem; 3 of which were a holiday weekend.Sierra RV looks forward to the opportunity to repair the warrantable items as determined by [redacted]. In order to analyze the issues, the unit must be in our shop with proper resources and service advisors. Any mobile service has to be directed through [redacted], the manufacturer of the unit, but they will not authorize a mobile service until the dealership has the opportunity to evaluate the issues.This is our final response and we will accommodate her unit as a priority.
