Mr. [redacted] signed a financial agreement to have a tooth extracted, bone graft placed, buildup and a porcelain fused to metal bridge placed from for tooth numbers 18, 19, and 20. This treatment has been completed. Mr. [redacted] was insured by DeltaCare at the time of the agreement which was verified online on January 23, 2014 and February 19, 2014.
As such, Mr. [redacted] signed a financial arrangement and he completed the procedures in our office. He signed a Smartpay agreement that stated the patient agreed to pay an initial down payment of $50.00 and the remaining balanec would be split between twelve (12) payments to begin on March 19, 2014.
Since that time Mr. [redacted] made a few payments and we have attempted to work with him regarding the agreed upon payment arrangement. However, the remaining balance remains outstanding and is past due at this point.
In summary, the account balance is past due. As such, the patient was contacted by the outsource team and attempts were made to reconcile the amounts due but were unsuccessful. Unfortunately Mr. [redacted] has made no further attempts to pay on the balance due.

Review: Dentist yells at assistant while working on teeth. Reception forces appts. Dentist scares you into having unnecessary work done. Preform shotty work.

Problem 1: Terrible workmanship!!!! I want a refund for my last visit becasue of the quality of work that was done. The filling I had replaced was sub-par. I did not get a choice of material used. It looks disgusting. It looks like they melted something yellow-ish over my tooth. The filling was located in the center top part of my tooth. The flilling substance was put in so poorly that it looks like hot fudge on an ice cream sundae...dripping over the sides of the tooth. I will have to have this work redone.

Problem 2:Dentist Mr. Vest was talking down to his assistant the entire time they were working on my teeth and created a hostile enviroment.

Problem 3: Reception (blonde with glasses)forced me to have an appointment even though I said I did not want one 5 times. She randomly put me in the system for a 6 month check up even though I said I would schedule at a different time.

Problem 4: I was treated with disdain by reception because I was a cash paying guest without dental insurance. Obviously very different than other guests that were being helped during my check in and check out process.

Problem 5: I had 3 wisdom teeth removed at a different location. Staff told me I should schedule the procedure to remove the teeth after I notified staff that it had already been taken care of. I had to ask 3 times for the teeth to be shown as removed in my chart.

Problem 6: I called and spoke with someone [redacted] in reception to cancel my follow up appointment and the one that was scheduled randomly (problem 3). She asked why I was not keeping them and I described the trouble above. I asked to speak witht the owner or office manager. I was told that he "just walked away from his desk" but that she would pass along the message to call me back. The phone call was not returned. I called back 3 more times and was told that he was unavailable with no follow up from the manager.

Desired Settlement: I want a refund for my last visit becasue of the quality of work that was done and the hostile enviroment I was forced to be in during my procedure. All problem as described above.

Initial Business Response

This letter is in response to the concerns filed by Ms. [redacted] on August 26, 2013.

Sierra Smiles Dentistry takes great pride in being a customer service focused dental office and we strive to ensure that the patient experience is exceptional. To meet this goal, along with outstanding clinical care, we expect that our staff treat each patient in a professional, courteous and informative manner. We truly regret that Ms. [redacted] feels we did not meet her expectations.

Upon receiving notification from the Revdex.com that Ms. [redacted] was dissatisfied with the filling that was placed on August 8, 2013 we immediately attempted to contact her. Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] has not returned our phone calls.

If Ms. [redacted] has a concern regarding the quality and/or appearance of the filling placed on tooth number 18 she is welcome to contact our office for assistance.

In closing, it was never our intention to make Ms. [redacted] feel pressured to make an appointment for a follow-up visit. Additionally, we truly regret that she felt uncomfortable at our office. Ms. [redacted] is welcome to contact our office should she have a concern regarding her filling; however, her request for a refund for the treatment that was provided is declined.

Respectfully,

Sierra Smiles Dentistry

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

If the goal of Sierra Smiles is to be "customer service focused and ... to ensure that the patient experience is exceptional" they are missing the mark by a long shot. The customer service and dental work was sub-par at best (as detailed in my last response). The staff was unprofessional (both dentist and receptionist) and I was not treated in a courteous manner.

The solution that Sierra Smiles suggests is for me to contact their office for a follow-up appointment. Why would I spend more of my time and money at a place that does not treat me well or provide me with even adequate dental care? I will be taking all of my dental needs elsewhere.

Sierra smiles responded that "it was never our intention to make Ms. [redacted] feel pressured to make an appointment for a follow-up visit". This statement is completely false. When I was asked when I wanted to return for my 6 month check-up I responded that I would call at another time to book the appointment. The receptionist urged me to book right then so that I wouldn't be forgotten about. I told her that I did not wish to make the appointment that day 2 more times. She said ok then I will just go ahead and book the appointment and if you need to change the time or date we can do that later. If I have to say no 3 times and then is handed an appointment card with a randomly chosen date and time...I would say that this is being forced to take an appointment.

I am appalled by my treatment by Sierra Smiles which is quite a shame because I was planning on having more dental work plus braces in the near future. If there is a silver lining in this situation it has to be that I will be having this work done by another company. I am hoping that this will come to a logical settlement.

I do not believe that Sierra Smiles regrets the treatment I have received since I have never even received an apology. Nothing has been done to correct this wrong except an offer for me to make a follow-up appointment. I will not be allowing my dental work to be touched by anyone at this location. I am not confident in their services and do not wish to cause myself anymore grief. It is a shame that a "customer service focused" company allow such a terrible experience to not be corrected. At this point, I feel completely disrespected by Sierra Smiles.

I am dissatisfied by the response Sierra Smiles has written and reject their proposed solutions.

Review: March 11,2015In June of 2014 I had a x-ray,tooth extraction & a bridge that followed. All covered by Medical. ([redacted]) Medical #. I went to (Sierra Smiles)in Auburn,CA 95603. For some reason they asked for my Bank Card, Credit card #'s. I noticed my Bank account was missing $175.00. I called Sierra Smiles and stated the money in my Bank account was for my PG&E bill. They stated "There's nothing you can do about it now". In short I have documentation from Medical that the procedures that I had been performed were all covered under Medical. (I gave them my Medical card). AmerAssist A/R Solutions, Inc.
