To Whom It May Concern:In response to the complaint of *** ***, please be aware of the following. We recently fabricated upper and lower dentures for *** and had informed her of the shrinkage that could occur. We suggested implants which were not acceptable to her at this
timeThe other option which was disclosed was to have relines or re-fittings, if necessary, and a fee was given at that time. Because of her apparent misunderstanding, we have contacted her to call for an appointment where we will do the reline procedure at no charge. We hope to solve this amicably and professionally.Thank you.John ** D***, D.D.S

In response to [redacted] complaint, I submit the following. [redacted] presented in January, 2014 as a complete edentulous patient with medical and dental history which contributed to damage and discomfort to oral tissues and function. Oral...

examination disclosed this which required a treatment plan to correct previous denture shortcomings and then to proceed with oral tissue conditioning to restore optimum health to aid in denture comfort. I explained and counseled [redacted] on many occasions that this would be needed as a "Work in Progress" which I am continuing as ethically and professional as she deserves. Yes, she has been seen for numerous appointments to accomplish the best result and the denture will be refitted for the best oral recovery. The four dentures she was given to take home and examine were wax molds of the finished appearance because she had issues with her appearance which were altered to her and her husband's approval. I was shocked to hear of this complaint since my staff and I have been very diligent to achieve the best result. I must continue my treatment plan in order to restore her to maximum oral health.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/05/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The Doctor should not have been (shocked) because on more than one occasion I told the Dr. that I was not satisfied with the progress and asked to be refunded. I was also advised that this was taking much too long and to seek out another dentist. I also am not aware of this oral tissue conditioning the dr.is referring to. While
I am not questioning the Dr.'s ethics or professionalism; I am, his ability to make and fit me with a proper pair of dentures. There was never an impression of my gums made, only of the old dentures which did not fit. At one point, even the Dr.'s wife questioned why I was sent home with such bad looking dentures. I was told to contact the Dental Board Of Ohio, but instead chose to contact the Revdex.com to resolve the matter. The next step will be the Dental Board. I am looking for a full refund so I can contact another dentist, as I am not comfortable or confident of the outcome at this Practice.
Final Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2015/06/02) */
Like any other health professional I have no control over patient's progress or treatment. I also have never suggested a patient to see another doctor for treatment unless for a specific procedure. Oral tissue conditioning is a procedure which is fairly common to aid in damaged traumatized tissue to return to a healthy condition.
I offer the following options for your consideration to resolve this matter.
* Full refund with dentures returned to our office.
*One half the original fee with dentures to remain in patient's possession for treatment to continue wither another doctor. This would avoid cost of another corrected denture.
*To proceed with our treatment plan as agreed at our consultation and ensuing appointments. I feel this would be a proven procedure to fit the dentures after tissues have had maximum healing. I feel that it
is too soon, yet, to proceed with the final refitting.
Please ask [redacted] to contact our office on her decision and we will arrange resolution to her with her satisfaction.

Thank you.
