Review: I ordered bedroom furniture from the Furniture & Mattress Center, Inc. on [redacted]. in [redacted] on March *, 2013. I paid in full $2,900.I have an invoice indicating full payment and delivery within 3-4 weeks.I have been promised delivery 5 times and to date nothing has been delivered. Delivery was promised first on April *, then the end of May, then June ** ( I was told that the entire order was complete waiting to be picked up in warehouse-no delivery), then next delivery would be July * ( no delivery after waiting all day), told then that delivery would be [redacted] or ** of July. No delivery and reason given was July [redacted] holiday. We have now waited 18 weeks for our furniture. My wife and I lost our furniture in the hurricane and have been living without bedroom furniture since then. I am concerned that we have been defrauded and that we will not receive any furniture.Desired Settlement: We would like the contract performed and our furniture delivered immediately. The furniture company that makes the American-made furniture is Vaughan-Basset and it is in Galax, Virginia. There can be no excuse for the delay.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

The furniture arrived today. Thank you.

Review: I ordered a 42" glass table that was supposed to come with glass that was 1/2" thick and tempered, which was indicated on the receipt. I also purchased 4 chairs that were to accompany them. The order was supposed to be delivered on 5/** but did not arrive until 5/**. The delivery guys brought the furniture in and set it up. When I mentioned to them that the glass was only about an 1/8", which was the wrong thickness, they said to sign off that I received the product and that they will have it taken care of at the store. I called the store for numerous weeks, but was given the run around about receiving the thicker glass. I was told for about 3 to 4 weeks that the glass was on order, but nothing was being done. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. The result was that I ended up having to be charged for the product because I received the product. They said that if I had an issue with the glass to contact the business. The manager at the business is refusing to return any of my calls because I filed a dispute with the credit card company.Desired Settlement: I am only looking to receive the product that I ordered. I only have an issue with the thickness of the glass. I would like them to replace their 1/8" thick glass with what was ordered. The glass that should have come with the table is 42" round in diameter, 1/2 inch thick and tempered

[redacted]:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Signature Furniture regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: We ordered our bed about two months ago and have yet to receive it. We have had deliveries scheduled four times and nothing shows up. When we call, someone barely answers the phone and when they do answer, they are very rude and give us the run around, putting us on hold and bouncing us from person to person. They claim someone will deliver the bed and when no one shows up, they have one excuse after the other and say it could take many more weeks. We have taken days off from work and rescheduled the delivery with our building several times. They often say they will call us back to give us a delivery estimate and no one calls. This company is a nightmare to work with and a disgrace. I am incredibly offended by their customer service ( because there is none) and at this point would rather have spent more money to receive the bed on time. This is the worst furniture store I have ever been to.Desired Settlement: We paid for half of the bed upfront in cash and at this point, I want my money back. It does not seem that this company will deliver the bed, so I want my money back.

Review: Made a purchase on November **, 2012 of a set of sofas three pieces color brown which I was promised it would be delivered on November **, 2012. I needed them before the Christmas holiday. I called and spoke to the manager called [redacted] who told me she could give me a loaner until my sofas would come on January *, 2013. They gave me the loaner a three piece set of sofa which is synthetic leather and color black. They delivered the loaner sofas on December **, 2012. Its been eight months and [redacted] and sales person [redacted] are refusing to give me my money back and they don't want to give me the sofas I originally purchased. I went to the store on April **, 2013 and [redacted] wrote me a paper stating she will deliver the sofas in 1 week prior to that day and that she will pick up the sofas they lend me and drop off the sofas I purchased. I called to speak to [redacted] whom her husband is the owner of the store and [redacted] the son of the owner of the store. They refuse to speaking with me. They have been disrespectful and say they don't have anything to talk to me about and they hang up the phone. I payed $1550 with my master card credit card and the rest in cash.Desired Settlement: I want my $2,750 plus interest for all this month them holding my money and for them to pick up the sofas they gave me as a loaner.

This email is in response to the letter regarding the incident with customer [redacted]. Please note that the customer received NINE pieces of furniture from our store, Signature Furniture. It was explained to him that the order would be brought in during the last week of August, so he would not be charged for storage for the months of July and August.

The customer came into the store during the last week of august and requested the delivery be made that same week. Signature Furniture did the best they could and had the furniture in and delivered by the 30th. The customer received all 9 pieces of his order, which was specified on his receipt to be a queen bed (three pieces; headboard, footboard, rails), night stand, a chest, a dresser, a mirror, and 2 lamps. All which were delivered on August 30th. The customer was home to receive the order, and signed that the merchandise was inspected and received in good condition.

He raised his voice at the manager, and started making gestures with his hands that were offensive to everyone, including the customers present (one who had to cover her young daughter’s eyes and ears). Thats when the manager told him the police will be called unless he stepped out of the store. He slurred some more threats and stormed out of the store after that.

A copy of the sales order will be sent upon request, as signed proof of delivery.

Review: I have purchased a full sized bed, a full sized mattress, a twin sized mattress, and a rug. I recieved the bed broken and the mattresses are dirty with black smuges all over them and the rug is dusty and has mites on it, I went back to the store to get a refund. And the owner started the curse at us and kicked us out of the store. We lost $800 dollars, they took back there mattress and rug and didnt give us the money for it. They now have both the money and the merchandise.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my hard earned money back which is $800, unlike these people that scam others for a living.

Business

Response:

The customer placed an order for a full side bed, a full mattress and a twin mattress. A rug was given to the customer as a free gift for being a first time customer. He received the merchandise, and about a week later, called to complain that the bed was broken, and therefore he did not want it anymore. We explained to the customer that he received the merchandise and signed on the day of delivery and assembly in good condition.

He came into the store demanding a refund, and yelling at a customer thinking he worked here. We explained again that he received the merchandise in perfect condition, and we can't take back damaged furniture.

He still has his merchandise, and he was refunded $200 as a courtesy.

Review: I ordered a console table and paid $550 on 5/23/14.They told me I would receive the item the following monday. It is now 2 months They kept telling me they were waiting for the delivery. Then about 1 month after I was told that they cannot get that particular table I should order another table which I did..I have not receive the table and the owner who took my money refuse to return my money and told me to stop callingDesired Settlement: I would like my money back

Business

Response:

The customer had to wait a while as her merchandise was being manufactured and delivered to California, then New Jersey. She did indeed receive the table that she ordered, it just took longer than expected to.

Review: I purchased a sofa with sleeper (sofa bed) and a 4 inch memory foam mattress from this company on July 3, 2015 for $1,600. When ordering the sofa the sales woman [redacted] reassured me the sofa bed will not be seen when it is folded in and that I will receive the same sofa as seen in the store. She said the sofa will be delivered to my apartment in one week. After the passing of one week I called and spoke to the manager [redacted] and he said the sofa was not ready and it would be ready in one more week but unfortunately it took 3 more weeks to arrive after consistent phone calls on my part. They did not call me once to notify me the sofa will be delivered late. After the delivery and assembly in my home, the sofa looked completely different as the one I requested. The sofa mattress could be seen from the bottom of the sofa and they did not send me the right mattress I ordered, instead they sent me a one inch regular mattress. I went to the store and spoke to the manager, [redacted], showing him pictures of the sofa and telling him about the mattress. He said he would send someone to fix it. He sent someone and he tried to fit the 4 inch memory foam mattress but it would not fit. The man said he could only put a drape at the bottom to hide the mattress protruding from the sofa. After 2 weeks I called the manager once again to see if the man was going to come back with another mattress and to fix it and he said the piece did not come in. After another week after not hearing anything I called the man that originally came to my house to fix the mattress and he said he was waiting for a call from [redacted] to come fix the sofa but they had already received the part and I needed to call [redacted]. I called [redacted] once again and he acted like he did not know what I was speaking about and said the man should've already came. I felt like I was playing cat and mouse so I went to the store to speak to [redacted] in person to return the sofa but he will not accept my return.Desired Settlement: After the Manager, [redacted] rudely saying he will not refund me for the memory foam or the sofa nor fix the problem; I do not want to stay with the sofa. I would like a full refund of the cost of the sofa bed and mattress which was $1,600.

Response:

My name is [redacted], the manager at Signature Furniture, and I havebeen conversing with mrs. [redacted] Refund or exchange options are completely out the question for thereasons that follow: 1. Mrs. [redacted] is completely rude and has not been taught mannersthrough out her childhood. 2. I myself, [redacted], have tried many times to speak with her andtried to resolve this matter many times. Every time I do she says "ok noproblem." And a couple of weeks later calls me yelling and disrespecting meon the phone and requesting a refund and what not. 3. My sales person, [redacted], has never assured or reassured that thesofa bed will not be seen when it is folded in. Just because that's commonsense, knowing the fact that she has a full size bed in there and this orderwas marked a special order. 4. Customer is stating that she did not receive the same sofa as seenin the store! She received EXACTLY what she ordered. She accepted the delivery of hermerchandise and signed the receipt confirming her consent of the delivery. 5. The customer placed an order, had it customized to fit her needs, received her order and signed our delivery slip confirming that it was madeto her liking. Our part ended there. In conclusion, when the customer began expressing her dislike of thefurniture, which as my customer states, the first week after ordering thesofa, she should have came in the store and let the staff here know of theissue, but Mrs. [redacted] actually kept quiet and waited patiently until themerchandise had been delivered. The complaints came afterwards and withspecial orders, unfortunately there is no warranty or any type of guarantee. For further information, I my self, [redacted] decided to bend the rules andtry to help her solving this issue, but unfortunately will not be able todue to her actions and behavior here at the store.Thank you, [redacted]

Review: Received a damaged/defective product (coffee table) from retailer. Sent email explaining the issue to retailer. Retail refused to recognize the defect and not taking action to get product replaced by manufacturer. Manufacturer requires contact through retailer as per warranty policy.Desired Settlement: Would like tepid like to get coffee table exchanged or replaced

Hi my Name is Nicole and I'm writing on response to ID#[redacted], We hadspoken to the customer and explained to them that if the merchandise isdefective it has manufacture warranty , We are more than happy to exchangefor a new one, but it does not cover transportation fees. The customer livesabout an hour away from our location. As we explained and was understood byboth parties it was not the customers fault neither signature furniture fordefective items. They were given option to pick it up if they didn't want topay for a transportation charge and they refused.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I was never contacted from the business with the statement nicole is claiming. If this was the case, we would be more than happy to drop in and exchange the item. The last emailed/correspondence recieved from the business was on May 27th, 2015 stating "If you know what the problem is, then fix it."

Regards,

Review: I received a full bed set from signature furniture. I purchased the [redacted], from them and had it delivered and installed. Upon installation one of the screws was tightened too much and left a crack in the railing. I immediately notified the business and they said they would take care of it. It has now been two years and I'm still waiting. I need this taken care of.Desired Settlement: Come and replace the railing.

Review: We bought a trundel bed and some other furniture for our home. First we had some delivery issues as they did not delivered as promised then when they deliver the trundel bed mattress did not fit the underneath bed. They took it back and after a long wait they deliver a mattress which is of very quality and uncomfortable to sleep on. I called them to send another mattress and if not exchange the kids bed to some other bed. They refused to help saying there is no other mattress available, and I can not return it either.Desired Settlement: Refund or better quality mattresses
