After visiting four Kitchen and Bath businesses to explore remodeling a small master bedroom bath, we were driving past Signature Kitchen and Bath on Manchester, and decided to just stop in and see what products they had to offer. It was a great decision. We met Paula, one of the company designers , and after chatting with her decided to make an appointment. After our fist visit we left noting an important difference. She listened. Whereas other companies seemed to know our desires better than we did, Paula heard what we were interested in accomplishing, and we went from there. We had some very specific needs and Paula was immediately able to reach her catalogues behind her and show us possibilities to meet those wishes. Plus she was able to suggest some possibilities that enhanced our plans. After a couple more meetings we realized that we were completely comfortable with Signature and signed the contract to proceed. The result exceeded our expectations. Another positive impression was that before they started, all of the various contractors, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpenters, all met together at our home to discuss how they would proceed so as to work together to get the job done. They informed us that there could be days when nothing would occur. Our response was “that was fine just let us know.” And communicate they did. With a job involving some possible challenges, we understood that some “glitches” could occur. Our estimate of a company is not as to whether “glitches” will occur, but how they respond when they do. Signature and their contractors never once tried to get us to accept a lesser solution. There was never a question as to giving us the completed plan for which we had contracted. And let us say at this point that the quality of the products and the work was always excellent. While the completed project did take longer that anticipated, it was due to understandable issues. We have no reluctance to recommend Signature Kitchen and Bath, and Paula in particular. They were great. Thank you. We are truly enjoying our new bath.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences with Signature Kitchen and Bath. We value your input and the opportunity to work with you on your projects and we know you will enjoy your bathroom for many, many years.

We originally hired Signature Kitchens to install some new kitchen cabinets. When Ericka came by for the first consultation to discuss the cabinets, she showed us how a redesign would give us a more efficient use of the space we had and give us more storage and counter than we originally planned. What a pleasure it was to work with a designer who really knew her stuff and also knew how the contractor would get things done. All my homeowner type questions were patiently and completely answered. Ultimately the redesign was a complete success and we have a BEAUTIFUL new kitchen (and family room and pantry and mud room) with tons of cabinets and counters!

The construction phase, although not a pleasurable experience for us (living in other rooms of the house at the time), went off without too many hitches. Our house is a Meltebeke design and as such, good quality and stout construction. But over the years, modifications by others made for some very interesting discoveries. Adam and his crew never skipped a beat and found workable, cost effective solutions to any and all problems. They even let me help on some of the ticky-tacky stuff that I’m good at just to save a couple of bucks.

Of course there were small glitches like the hot and cold water swap on the moved clothes washer hook up. And the beautiful LED under-cabinet lights that were different color temperatures. But ALL these things were taken care of in a timely and professional manner. We were so pleased with Ericka’s design skills and Adam and crew’s workmanship on this project that we hired Signature Kitchens to redesign and remodel the rest of the house including all new cabinets and tile in two bathrooms (a tough job in my opinion). Maybe the company name should be Signature House, not just Signature Kitchens!

Overall, even though they are not finished with mine as I write this, Signature Kitchens is a five star, A+++ outfit to consider for your next redesign/remodel project.

Simple remodel bath; pull tub, replace vanity top, install shower with shower doors, install new hardware and new commode.
PROBABLE (in good faith) remodel time 4 weeks from delivery of materials.
Design run through, choosing samples went fine.
First on-site validation of specs went fine.
Tear out begins.
In four weeks from date of contract materials are delivered. No problem.
April 30 first payment and start day of work.
Completion day of project July 12.
Why approximately 9 weeks???
Here's why;
1. Plumber (or assistant plumber) drills hole for shower drain 1/4 inch off inspection criteria so inspection fails. Set back of a two weeks. New plans, new inspection.
2. vanity top standard 60", with specs listing center bowl. Top opening drilled on the 15", not the 30" as specs indicated.
3. Onyx for walls of shower not measured correctly. Large wall 2 1/2 " short and side walls 2" too long. new materials required for delivery.
4. Shower head took three visits to be regulated properly.
Additionally, Project Manager at house only one time and never calling to update or for that matter apologizing for the INTERNAL mistakes. *** Products is the business behind Signature. It is very confusing to figure out whom to call with questions or concerns and that is frustrating.
I've paid my final bill, but only because of the contract I initialed. As I was told by the *** folks; "you got your bathroom". I signed a contract in good faith, assuming good work in a reasonable time frame. Everything seems fine, but these folks are full of internal problems. I will not work with them again. It's not worth the frustration and the premium price they put on their labor.

We know that there are a lot of options when it comes to choosing a remodeling Company. Remodeling is a process that involves countless people doing their job correctly. Plumbers, electricians, installers, Project managers, Production Managers, designers, order entry, Cabinet Manufacturers, plumbing fixture companies, inspectors, engineers, architects, the list goes on and on. In order for a project to go flawlessly, every single one of these contacts has to do their job correctly. As much as I would like this to be the case, it just isn’t realistic. However, Signature will always stand up and do the right thing in order to get the project completed. We will not point fingers, cut corners or leave a customer out to fend for themselves. When we are hired to remodel someone’s home, we are the ones responsible for making sure that everything gets completed in as safe and timely a manner as possible. Yes our plumber drilled a hole ¼ of an inch too low. We had to call in an engineer, have new plans drawn up and resubmit the plans to the County for inspection purposes. The solution was to put in a steel plate for structural support, of course all at our expense. Some companies may have chosen to cover up the mistake in order to move along more quickly, we chose to do the right thing. The brand new shower had a defective cartridge (not common) and after trying to solve the issue we ultimately replaced the defective part. My production Manager was at the house at least 4 times that I was aware of as well as myself coming out once. As the General Manager, I am aware of any job that may have challenges. The onyx panels were ordered incorrectly and reordered as well as the countertop being drilled incorrectly and having to be remade. All of which we expedited to get the project completed.
Remodeling can be a stressful undertaking. We are all human and mistakes will happen. When they do, we discuss and find the best solution with the customer. Sometimes doing things the right way takes longer than everyone would like, but in the end, doing it right will provide the customer with a much better product.

We have been working with Signature Design Manchester office for about 3 months on our kitchen and master bathroom remodeling. We paid $400 for them to come to our house for measurement, and never got a proposal or anything, except for just a few numbers. We don't feel the designer has put any thoughts on our project except when we met.

We don't feel Signature Design cares about their customers. We will never work with them again, and don't recommend this company.

Our process, although not for everyone, has been designed to give our customers the most amount of attention without them having to pay a huge design fee upfront. Our process consists of an initial meeting where the customer can bring in some rough measurements and supply us with photos of the space to be designed. At that meeting, we discuss all of the design elements of the project; We select materials, select colors and discuss design options. Our goal is to be as accurate as we can when providing pricing instead of giving ranges that can be misleading.
We met for the first time in February of 2018 but only the husband came to the appointment. Based on his information, we moved forward with designing a kitchen and bath but he was not interested in picking materials. He left it to us to select materials that would fit their taste and budget. At the next appointment, both parties attended and Mrs. asked for a completely different design than what was originally discussed. These changes would increase the price of the project dramatically, which they were aware of. Another appointment was scheduled to view the changes and hear the revised estimated price. All of this work up to this point was all done absolutely free of charge.
The next step in our process is to schedule a measure at the residence. We do ask for a $400 measure fee which is applied to the project. At this point, the customer has the option to move forward with this step or consider other options. They elected to move forward and have us come out.
At the measure we brought our Project Manager, Licensed Plumber, Licensed Electrician as well as the Designer. We spent 3 hours at their home taking measurements of all of the spaces including additional areas that weren’t originally discussed.
We then got together for our 5th appointment to review all of the pricing and details. At that time, Mr. told us that he wanted the price to come down substantially from the price we discussed prior to us collecting the $400 measure fee and bringing the trades out to their home. So we offered to redesign everything and make the changes necessary to meet their new budget requirements.
We strive to make every customers experience with us a great one. We believe that in doing all of the work upfront at no charge, it shows our commitment to our customers. As the General Manger of Signature Kitchen and Bath, I would have gladly had conversations with this customer to let them voice their concerns, but they never reached out. My Designer was excited to see them today to share the new designs and pricing, unfortunately, the customer cancelled their appointment. I am not sure what we could have done any better but I am always open to new ideas.

Customer Response • Jul 12, 2018

I agreed to pay the measure fee because that was the only way to move the project forward. I could see the logic behind it, and had no problem of doing that.
My question is for those customers who paid the measure fee, which is quite an amount, do they deserve at least to get a proposal?
Is it fair to customers if they don't sign the contract, they get nothing, even if a proposal, after have paid the measure fee?
If I was working for the company, I wouldn't blame customer for any changes, especially during the design stage. Isn't it part of the process?
We have wasted too much time on this project, don't want to spend any more time on it.

from Signature Kitchens and Baths (St. Peters location) visited my home in November 2017 to measure for the addition of a powder room (1/2 bath). He said to allow up to 3 weeks for the quote to be prepared. After about 4 weeks, I called to inquire about the quote, and was told Steven would get back to me, he never did. I called again after another week, and was told again that Steven would get back to me, he never did. I'm glad I decided to go with another contractor.

We contracted with Signature Kitchen and Bath to renovate our master bath. What was supposed to be a 5 week job turned into 5 months. It was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this company.

We signed a contract for a complete kitchen remodel in April 2017. We were informed that materials would be ordered that day and arrive sometime the end of May. Once materials arrived we would schedule the job--early July with the finish occurring around end of August. As of today, Oct 19 we are still waiting on replacement trim that needs to be installed after first being mismeasured and then ordered incorrectly. It has been 102 days since our remodel began, with only 39 of those days being actual work days. Communication with project managers has been an issue from day one. We requested that Project managers inform us of delivery dates, schedules, material issues, and Changes. Information was not shared with us unless we initiated the conversation. At the beginning of the job the demo team was given inaccurate information that caused a delay in work, "no work" days ( which we were assured would not occur) and a missed deadline for critical inspections. Upon unpacking the cabinets and trim we found several to be damaged with cracks or broken sides, some unpainted and trim splintered so that it was not usable. Several cabinet doors contained seams that were seeping glue or so large that the doors appeared to be cracked. The microwave cabinet bottom was covered in glue and was visible to the eye. Several pieces were returned for replacement which caused a delay of 4 weeks. The trash can cabinet was missing an insert which was reordered. The reorder was incorrect and we are still waiting for the correct piece to arrive (8 week delay) in addition to crown moulding that was mismeasured (not enough was originally ordered to complete the job) and then when reordered was ordered incorrectly, again delaying the job. Throughout this job there has never appeared to be a sense of urgency to complete the work as originally scheduled, nor at the level of quality and expertise advertised each and every day on our local tv stations. This job should have been finished in mid September. We are hoping that the materials will finally be delivered of the correct measurement and quality so that the job is completed--4 months after the start. Signatures customer service and project management team are in need of a complete renovation themselves.

Remodeling can be a very stressful process. With unrealistic expectations promoted by television remodeling programs, it is sometimes difficult to separate reality from staged programming. Our promise to our customer’s is that when a challenge arises, we will step up and do whatever is necessary to correct it. Our suppliers provide us with materials. If the materials are defective or damaged, our option is to reorder them and get them replaced. If they arrive again defective or damaged, we will do the same until it is right. There are industry standards that manufacturers follow and if we feel our customers are being shorted on quality, we advocate for our customers and get those materials replaced, many times, before the product even gets to the customer. We can’t control what the manufacturer does, but we can stay on top of it and see it through to the end, that is what we do. The project was substantially completed in a timely manner although there were some parts and pieces that took some time to finally get done to the customers liking. We continue to evaluate our vendors and make positive changes when needed.
