Review: I am extremely unhappy with the services that I have received from Signature Property Management. I entered into a business contract to rent my home and was very clear up front that I needed a June 1st move in. I feel very out of loop when it came to my own property. Often times I felt as if I had to call and follow up each day about what was happening in the process. Communication is horrible. The story changed every time I spoke with the representative. I learned that the tenants were not aware of the June 1st move in date. After some back and forth phone calls/texts/emails with the home office we arranged a June 15th move in date. My contract that I signed states that the security deposit would be collected from the tenants upon lease signing. This was not the case. I was told the security deposit would be direct deposited into my account. Then I was told that it couldn't be and it would be overnighted to me once received. Today I learned that the tenants mailed it this week yet the lease was signed last week. This is completely unacceptable and a breach of the contract. This situation is getting ridiculous. The contracts are sloppy; I was told part of it wasn't even valid anymore and they were working on changing it in the future. I haven't even had the chance to meet the tenants. I was never asked if I wanted anything custom in the lease. I won't ever do business with the company again nor refer anyone to them, this experience has been a nightmare.Desired Settlement: I want my security deposit now; I have bills (including my mortgage) that I am waiting to pay because I was under the impression the move in date was June 1st. I want a bigger discount then the $250 off for the inconvenience. It is completely unacceptable to me that all information was not being disclosed and that I was being pushed to the side and made to feel like a lesser priority.

Response:

I apologize for any miscommunication from our office. I did tell the owner that the contract could be read 2 different ways and that I would be addressing that. When I spoke to him he said that Michele had been communicating with him and keeping him in the loop. He told me his frustration was that he expected the tenants to move in June 1, but they were actually moving in June 15. It is our practice to send out the lease to the tenants for electronic signatures and have them send or bring the deposit in to the office. Sometimes the lease is signed before the deposit is received, but the lease isn't ratified until the deposit is received and the lease signed. So far as depositing the deposit to him electronically, I didn't realize our system wouldn't allow us to do that. I believe I told him that I would have that done IF we could, but since we couldn't I did say we'd overnight it to make sure that he got it asap because I knew he mentioned he was concerned about paying his mortgage. We have not gotten the deposit as of yet from the tenants but I will most definitely have it sent to him as soon as we do via overnight mail. So far as meeting the tenants there isn't any reason why he cannot meet the tenants.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear I had to contact Michelle to get every update. She did not tell me until this week that the security deposit was not received. My mortgage is still not paid. Again everything is not being disclosed to me unless I am asking for it. Michelle stated the tenants mailed it earlier this week. It does not take this long to get to another location in the same state. The question I have is why was there no follow up with the tenants setting expectations when the money should be mailed. Why was I not given any expectations?
