Our customer purchased 2 semi-private e-learning open water classes on 2/25/2015. 1 customer enrolled online and started his...

elearning on 2/26/2015 and completed his elearning on 3/2/2015. The other customer (she) enrolled online for elearning on 3/9/2015. He came into the shop on 4/8/2015 to inform us the other customer didn't have time to do the class and requested a refund. I informed him classes usually weren't refunded. That he could bring in her book work and I would see if I could give a partial in store credit. He said he would let me know. Later that day he came in and did his elearning quiz. On 4/11/2015 He came back in and said she was going to keep the book work. I told him I would see what I could do for store credit and put it towards his personal gear purchase. He said no he wanted to but his gear from us and did so this day. We scheduled his confined dives for 4/22/2015 and he attended that day. We scheduled his open water dives for 4/24/2015 and 4/26/2015. He agreed to the open water classes and came in and got 2 more cylinders for theses days. On 4/23/2015 at 9:40pm he text the instructor that he would not be able to attend the open water dives. His rental gear was due back to the shop on 4/28/2015. he had left a voice mail saying he would be late returning the rental gearand wanted to reschedule his dives. On 5/5/2015 I call him and asked when he was going to return the rental gear and that he would have to pay for the extra days he had the rental gear. He brought the rental gear back later that day 5/5/2015. On 5/5/2015 when he returned his gear he told us he would not be completing his class with us and was un-happy. He said he wanted a refund for her class and a partial refund for his class. He was not happy with our discussion and stormed out of our shop. We have a class cancellation fee of 75.00 per class/dive. He cancelled 4 dives $300.00 plus the extra rental days 8 extra days @ $49.95 per day. A total of $699.60 he owes us still.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/05/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Their class cancellation fee is listed on their website.
"Classroom Cancellation Policy
Classroom sessions are scheduled in advanced to insure we are able to offer the most effective learning experience. Students who schedule a classroom session and cancel their class without 24 hours notice prior to the class will be charged a $75.00 cancellation fee. Students who schedule their classroom session and do not show up for the class and do not call 24 hours prior to their class will be charged a $100.00 cancellation fee."
I did not cancel a classroom session at all.
As far as the gear rental. That was supposedly included in the fee I already paid for the training.
To clarify, gear rental is definitely included in the training package per the website.
"Rental Gear (BCD, Wetsuit, Regulator, Weights and Air Cylinder) air fills** are included for all classes."

[redacted]Document Attached[redacted]
We have decided to refund the customer $462.65 the amount of 1 semi-private open water class. This amount is the ($549.00 less the crew pack.) The $200.00 partial class refund will not be refunded. Attached are copies of the agreements signed by the customer. The refund has been applied to the money owed by the customer for the rental and class cancellation fees. The customer has a balanced owed of 87.10.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 19, 2015/06/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I came into the store to explain why I wouldn't be continuing training, I let them know I didn't appreciate the constant jokes [redacted] made about male and female genitalia and jokes about my religion. If that is considered ethical and professional I will pay whatever I owe.
