Sikorski Hearing Aid Center Reviews (2)

I am not surprised to hear of this complaint, unfortunately, as I am very well aware of his recent dissatisfaction of our service Mr*** purchased his hearing aids months ago on October 13, for $ He received them at cost because he went to my church and I wanted to
provide him with better hearing aids than his budget would allow These hearing aids retail for $ We also waived all service charges for the first months; the complaints started after that.Mr*** would often call making a complaint about the function of his hearing aids, only for us to find that they just needed to be cleaned Because it was often the case that his filters were plugged with debris, I stocked extra supplies at the church so that I could always change them before/after service; and, therefore, he didn’t have to make the drive to the office He was not charged for these services Mr*** stopped attending the church over a year ago so those monthly mic cover changes ceased You need to understand that hearing aids do not restore hearing to normal, nor do they prevent one from losing more hearing It can be very unsettling for a patient to lose more hearing and learn that their hearing aids can no longer be adjusted to meet their needs At the appointment that led to this complaint, on May 17th, 2017, Mr*** had an appointment because he felt that his hearing aids were again not working We found them to be working properly but that it was his hearing that dropped We also learned that he had recently been on medication for ear infection.Disclaimer: We are not a medical healthcare facility; we are a hearing aid practice When a patient presents with issues medical in nature, we refer him/her to a medical professional In Mr***’ specific case, he was referred for medical care times for underlying medical issues. In the above mentioned, specific circumstance, Mr*** had been placed on the ear drop/antibiotic to help with an ear infection that is known to be ototoxic, but cleared by the FDA as “generally safe” Please note that it is generally safe as long as the TM is in tact and otherwise healthy I have seen a case where a patient lost hearing using this “safe” ear drop I suggested Mr*** follwith his Dr to determine if that drop may have been the reason behind his decline in hearing The medical notes themselves state that the patient was to return if any problems arose/persisted.I did ask that he have his records sent to my office so that I could verify the medication he was taking Here was our mistake: I hired a new assistant who filed his records away and had not given them to me for review I had not known we received them That said, it wouldn’t have changed the fact that Mr***’ hearing test (re-test) was due to be done months after his May test which showed the change to confirm if the loss was permanent or if any had returned If the loss was found to be permanent, new hearing aids would be necessary If the loss was temporary, he would be able to continue using the devices he has. When he called to ask if we “forgot about him” in August, I explained that we would schedule his re-test for September He only wanted to argue with me that he could have died and we wouldn’t have known about it He refused to schedule an appointment He also called back several days later and spoke with my assistant and told her he spoke with a lawyer about the lack of care offered here She offered to schedule him, or see him herself Again, he refused.Mr*** is not locked into seeing me for care His warranty expires Jan19, He is welcome to see anyone who handles hearing aids for service I understand he may want a refund but he will not get one He has a copy of his purchase agreement allowing him to return his hearing aids within daysof his purchase I will gladly forward his records to the facility of his choice for continued care.Warm Regards,*** *** *** ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. In response to Ms. [redacted] comments. She rather jumbles fact and fiction. The comments about the Micropphones . They where constantly not working due to moisture , oil etc. . I have checked with other wearers of aides and they have never had their mics go bad even though they wear them in the gym and outdoors fishing.Never did she service the aides at church. She said she would but never had a convenient time to do such.I was never referred for medical care three times. Show me the recordsOnce after the hearing test she suggested I see a Dr. in Eau Claire. The last time I saw him I ended up with a nose operation which didn’t do anything for my hearing.  I told them I could go to a specialist at Mayo clinic near my home much easier. They didn’t like that as they have some kind of tie in with Defatta. She is correct they are not medical folks. I can get medical opinions on my own. My  May 17th appointment I didn’t say the aides weren’t working I wanted them turned up as I couldn’t hear well. I had seen hear before and she said there was plenty of extra power so they could be turned up. Since they are my aides couldn’t you just turn them up and then give me all your suggestions as to medical advice from a layman. The medical rerelease.  I filled out the release in May. I called in August and she fumbled around and told me that the records and not been received. I asked her how long she would wait before she called me. She told me that wasn’t her job. I went to the records department of the clinic and the lady showed me the fax receipt saying they where sent and received the 19th 0f May. I called back to inform her that she had them and she blamed an assistant for not filling them. If she had followed up within 30 days and called problem solved. No she invents and excuse  blaming others. She never took responsibility for this service or lack of. She is getting all huffy because her mics didn’t work because they where sensitive to moisture. I am a normal human being and expect to use aides during normal activities. If the aides are still under warranty she can max out the power and send me list of other providers that service these devices. She has wasted almost a year of the warranty. This is not good service and she sure isn’t the victimRegards,
