Review: I ordered custom-made cabinets from Silva Cabinetry and a granite countertop. The company visited the site on three separate occasions to take measurements and discuss the desired job and I personally visited their business facility in [redacted] to confirm the project timing, measurements, design, and specifications on all appliances. The company delivered the cabinetry and stone one month late with many mistakes. The appliances (refrigerator and freezer as well as under-cabinet icemaker) did not fit in the spaces intended because cabinetry was not built according to their own design plan and measurements, stone was cut crooked, cabinet doors and drawers hit into each other causing damage each time they are utilized, shelves were left cut too short and with ragged, unfinished edges and the faucet was damaged by the poor stonetop cutting. Additionally, cabinet door and drawers do not line up from top to bottom and inserts that were promised such as dividers for baking trays were not provided. There was no quality control to address these issues. The company did revisit the job site on two separate occasions and did make the one correction to allow the refrigerator and freezer to fit in the intended space, however subsequently walked off the job without addressing the remaining issues after a dispute about the quality of the work. The company had been paid the majority of the bill, however the remaining $1800 will not cover the cost of having all the other repairs addressed.Desired Settlement: I would like the remaining issues resolved and all repairs to be made.

Review: In November of 2014 my wife and I began working with [redacted] of Silva Cabinetry, Inc. on a basement bar/kitchen. After working through a number of iterations we came to a final design in early December 2014. On December **, 2014 I signed contracts to manufacture and install a Walnut wood bar. The price was $7,500 consisting of a 50% ($3,750) down payment which was made that day. A 40% ($3,000) payment due on the cabinets’ arrival and another 10% ($750) final payment due upon completion. There was an mutual understanding that the job would take between 8-10 weeks which put the completion date around mid-February 2015. Since making the initial deposit of $3,750 on December [redacted] 2014, neither my wife or I have heard back from [redacted] or any other employees of Silva Cabinetry regarding the Bar. Throughout February 2015 my wife called Silva Cabinetry on many occasions and spoke to [redacted] (front desk) without ever having received a return call from [redacted]. Finally my wife was able to make contact on February [redacted]. She called and stated her name was [redacted] and [redacted] acted surprised when he heard my wife’s voice. [redacted] asked why did not mention her last name he “knows so many [redacted]’s”. During that discussion [redacted] told my wife that due to weather and a number of his employees being sick throughout the month he had not even begun the project and would contact us. He also said, “what are you worried about, it’s not like you are waiting for a kitchen. I have customers who are without kitchens.” At no point previously had [redacted] tried to contact us to let us know that the project would be delayed which would not have been an issue for us. There was a clear breakdown in communication from Silva Cabinetry.

I tried calling Silva Cabinetry on March [redacted] at 1:39, March [redacted] at 1:36 and finally on March [redacted] at 1:27. On all 3 occasions I spoke with [redacted] (front desk) who said [redacted] would return my calls and until this point he has not called me back. At this point I feel I have no recourse. I do not believe Silva had any intention of building my bar since they have at no point tried to make contact with me. I’m not sure why there would be any breakdown in communication if their intentions were to build and deliver my bar.Desired Settlement: At this point I see no reason to believe that Silva Cabinetry will be manufacturing or delivering my bar/kitchen. My goal was to have the bar installed before my daughters birthday parties in early April well past the mid February date that was expected. At this point I would like a full refund of our deposit $3,750.
